I decide to try prompting the AI to paint some old medieval ruins and I rather liked the results.
I wanted to enhance the rustic look by adding a cow to the prompt
Ummm, maybe not... Then I tried looking for an artist that painted cows and got this...
I rather liked this post-apocalytic mutant cow
AI art is a never-ending source of surprises!
It worked out great!
Thank you!
:-)
Do you know who that reminds me of? Salvador Dali
Me too!
I never really appreciated Dali's works to be honest, maybe I haven't studied him enough, or looked close enough at his works and process. Talking abstract art, picasso is my man, the whole projectory of his work and it's evolution spoke to me on a deep level. His blue period especially influenced my own art for a very long period in my life.
Especially knowing your style and what you like @iaura, I think some of the Dali's work is smart & morbid, especially the small canvas. Let me find one for you.

I agree about Picasso, but he was a perv and it means everything he did was kinda messy haha and it tells a lot about people appreciating his art. But yeah you can't go wrong with Picasso, it took me a while to understand that.
Talking about the blue period do you know about Klein?
The AI is nuts like him, yes
Thanks @ackhoo!
Most welcome, @nikv!
They're amazing!
Yes, the AI does really interesting things.
Still... it's the brains behind the prompts, etc.... :)
These are just fried... 😁
Lol...

Too fackin right, let's have cheese and steak
Getting real Terry Gilliam vibes from these! Maybe the AI is a Monty python fan
Maybe... it does like chaos
To quote one of my favourite all time authors, (another awesome Terry) Terry Pratchett:
"Chaos is found in greatest abundance wherever order is being sought. It always defeats order, because it is better organized.”
Seriously though on a side note if you like humourous, witty fantasy literature you should check out some of his works.
I've read Pratchett and he is whimsical, for sure. Terry Gilliam is the bomb!
Simply marvelous
Thank you Juan! I find your photos of old Spanish buildings inspiring
What astounds me is the dreamlike quality of the pieces. It's interesting that we still don't know how images are rendered in our heads. Are they concrete like a movie? Or are they more abstract? To me, those images resemble the AI generated pieces. There is a cognitive 'fuzziness' there that doesn't sharpen until you center your attentional spotlight on it. I love the colour of these pieces. Nice!
Thank you! The AI actually generates images from perlin noise, which is the randomness associated with clouds...
Strange but beautiful!
These all turned out pretty awesome!
The AI is an unusual tool, for sure
It's still so surreal to me to these are painted by AI, does it mean it garners bits and bobs of other paintings that exist and makes an amalgam , or does it truly create it line by line like a printer of sorts? It's all so fascinating, what a time we live in, eh? Really fascinating @nikv
There are 2 AIs at work here: one that has been trained to understand language and the other that has been trained with visual datasets. It starts with perlin noise and the images are not created line by line but they gradually emerge, almost through a fog
Wait what.. how did you do that?? I really like the cow one.. very surreal.
It's a Jupiter notebook that you can use in Google collab. Still very new so not user-friendly but there are tutorials around. The AI is very surreal, that's precisely what I like about it
My wife is asking which AI you used. She got a project and she wanna use that shiiiit:!
It's a diffusion notebook here: https://t.co/8IU0RJsixJ It's not particularly user-friendly but there are tutorials around. She should also take a look at artbreeder. The look I get is based on the prompts I give it and the artists to use as reference
Thx I'll check artbreeder too!
Incredibly impressive ❤️ this is beyond a gift.
Thank you! It's an interesting tool, for sure
Nice work! I like surrealism. If you have the time, check out @gric works too.
Wow! Very abstract pictures! This AI chap is very avant-garde! 🙀😂
meow!
