🪐 Inspiration 🪐
I was on my way home in the bus, it had been a normal day, I had to go to take my university ID photo, I went to a friend's house quickly and now I was just waiting for the moment to be in my bed.
Something that doesn't happen as regularly as I would like...
In spite of the latter, a fleeting idea crossed my thoughts, which were already wandering among various ideas to illustrate.
I quickly took my notebook out of my backpack and began to sketch something small and fast, hoping that neither the person sitting next to me, nor those who were next to me in the aisle would notice and look at what I was doing strangely.
It would be very strange to explain that that female anatomy was something "Artistic" in a space where I thought I would only find closed minds and that they would only roll their eyes or look at me over my shoulder and condescendingly.
I closed the notebook and put it away, returning to anxiously await my return home...
🌌 The Process 🌌
The initial drawing was a bit tricky since at first I had no model and the torso didn't fit the legs so I looked for my favorite model, my sister.
Sadly my sister had very thin legs so I would have to erase the drawing and start from scratch, but I regained my spirits when my mother offered and indeed her silhouette was very similar to what I was looking for.
All that was needed were a few small details and that was it.
Once the figure was ready I could start coloring, the motif would be galaxy for this time because why not? I had a long time without doing something similar so it would be nice to take it up again. As you can see, I already had the leg ready and I only needed the rest of the body.
It is a gradient color application technique, in which the colors are superimposed and part of them are combined to generate that misty effect.
The coloring was a long and time consuming process, I would color a section today and leave it, the next day I would advance a little bit and leave it again, the day after that I would color a little bit again and so on and so forth.
The most usual time to work on drawing was at night, since I almost always had an unoccupied space but at the same time it was the time of the day with the worst lighting and less interaction.
Something I needed while drawing due to the lack of music....
It almost looked like a garment, a colleague said she would look for a similar fabric to make an outfit, I really hope she finds it.
I was only missing the upper limbs and quickly set about it.
With everything ready, I could continue with the background, my most awaited part.
I chose to color first with yellow, the first option was a blue but I felt it would be too common so I opted for a more exotic color....
I went on to apply several strokes of watercolor to add texture to the background, I felt that the orange color would bring out the rest.
And after that a little pointillism in the corners and lighter when reaching the center of the edges of the margin.
A series of mandalas to fill the space, taking advantage of a new gel pen that a friend had given me.
And last but not least, some touches and stars made with concealer to finish with that galaxy.
The meaning of this drawing or rather of its title is mainly directed to the acceptance of the body, especially the female body, because although sometimes we only look at the negative, many times these things do not really matter because they do not define us as a person, especially when these things are as insignificant as a little overweight or some other characteristic.

Iba de camino a casa en el bus, había sido un día normal, tuve que ir a tomarme la foto del carnet de la universidad, pase donde una amiga rápidamente y ahora solo esperaba el momento de estar en mi cama.
Cosa que no sucede con tanta regularidad como desearía…
A pesar de esto último una idea fugaz cruzó mis pensamientos, que ya iban desvariando entre diversas ideas para ilustrar.
Saque rápidamente mi cuaderno de mi mochila y comencé a bocetar algo pequeño y rápido, esperando que ni la persona que venía sentada a mi lado, ni las que estaban a un lado mío en el pasillo notaran y vieran con extrañeza lo que hacía.
Sería muy raro explicar que aquella anatomía femenina se trataba de algo “Artístico” en un espacio donde creía que solo encontraría mentes cerradas y que solo rodarían los ojos o me verían por sobre el hombro y con condescendencia.
Cerré el cuaderno y lo guardé volviendo a esperar con ansias mi regreso a mi hogar…
🌌 El Proceso 🌌
El dibujo inicial fue un poco complicado ya que en un principio no tenía modelo y el torso no encajaba con las piernas por lo que busqué a mi modelo favorita, mi hermana.
Tristemente mi hermana tenía piernas muy delgadas por lo que debería borrar el dibujo e iniciarlo de cero, pero recobré el ánimo cuando mi madre se ofreció y efectivamente su silueta era muy similar a lo que buscaba.
Solo eran necesarios algunos pequeños detalles y ya estaba.
Una vez con la figura lista podía comenzar a colorear, el motivo sería galaxia por esta vez porque ¿Porque no? Tenía mucho tiempo sin hacer algo similar así que sería agradable retomarlo. Como se puede ver, ya tenia la pierna lista y solo me faltaría el resto del cuerpo.
Es un técnica de aplicación de color con degradado, en la que los colores se superponen y parte de ellos se combinan para generar ese efecto nebuloso.
El coloreado fue un proceso largo y tardado, coloreaba una sección hoy y lo dejaba, al día siguiente avanzaba otro poco y lo volvía a dejar, al día siguiente a ese volvía a colorear otro poco y así de forma consecutiva.
El momento más habitual para trabajar en el dibujo era la noche, ya que casi siempre tenía un espacio desocupado pero al mismo tiempo era la hora del día con la peor iluminación y menor interacción.
Cosa que necesitaba mientras dibujaba ante la falta de música…
Casi parecía una prenda de vestir, una compañera dijo que buscaría una tela similar para hacerse un atuendo, espero realmente la encuentre.
Solo me faltaban las extremidades superiores y rápidamente me aboqué a ello.
Con ya todo listo, podía pasar al fondo, mi parte más esperada.
Elegí colorear primeramente con amarillo, la primera opción era un azul pero sentí que sería muy común por lo que opté por un color más exotico…
Proseguí a aplicar varias pinceladas de acuarela para agregar textura al fondo, consideré que el color naranja haría resaltar el resto.
Y tras ello un poco de puntillismo en las esquinas y más ligero al llegar al centro de los bordes del margen.
Una serie de mándalas que llenaran el espacio, aprovechando un nuevo bolígrafo de gel que una amiga me había regalado.
Y por último pero no menos importante, unos toques y estrellas hechos con corrector para finalizar con aquella galaxia.
El significado de este dibujo o más bien de su título va dirigido principalmente a la aceptación del cuerpo, especialmente al femenino, ya que aunque a veces sólo nos fijamos en lo negativo, muchas veces estas cosas en realidad no importan ya que no nos definen como persona, menos cuando esas cosas son tan insignificantes como un poco de sobre peso o alguna otra característica.
