Why do people who are not Artists or illustraitor always despise certain techniques?
Although even in artists I have seen this behavior....
I have always been assiduous to show my drawings to my friends, family, teachers and so on; but I have always noticed a certain change of energy in them as soon as I commented on certain things.
Oddly, some techniques seem to fail to impress, even when carried out with great care and dedication, even with this work the same thing has come to happen to me.
Watercolors usually impress or being a little less exaggerated, Like.
But this drawing is simply something that does not call the attention of others. Why did I do it?
Well, it's clear, because I want to express it freely, in my own way, even if I end up not liking it at all. And the thing is, I want to do simple things, things that distract me, that relax me, that I feel that they are an outlet and that they are; in some way, something that helps my psyche.
The watercolor brushstrokes cover the canvas like clouds cover a sky, that when other colors are placed on it, they darken or lighten depending on the case, as if a storm were coming or going.
The lines fill my mind like a calm sea that grows little by little but does not leave its calmness.
But leaving aside the vibes that it can transmit to me...
🌱 The Process 🌱
I have to say that this drawing was born of a peculiar and simplistic form, like a stain of the same watercolor on a leaf, a kind of pareidolia that resembled a man with long wavy hair like the ancient Vikings.
Only without the beard of course...
And well, I didn't have much time, college among other things, so without thinking too much I just decided to start drawing it.
As I'm not used to draw men, nor certain features without looking like anime, I had to ask for help from a model. I only have two sisters, and they are the ones who are always willing to help me (If they are in a good mood).
My second younger sister was the right one, since the first one was busy, I put her in a certain position and started to fix the sketch.
Thanks to her, the man ended up with certain fine features, but I liked it.
The next phase was much easier and more entertaining, as usual, I prepared my watercolor and began to give brushstrokes of two different shades of green along with some dripping.
I waited for the watercolor to dry while I took the colors and selected the ones that fit best.
Her hair was obviously the most pleasing.
It was like drawing a whirlwind, like the lines of the stacked pages of a book.
For part of the hair shape I also took guidance from my sister, who also had long wavy hair. She had but she cut it off...
Once those lines were finished, I only had to shade a little in certain places and add details with color.
Although it's not one of my most detailed works I feel very proud of it and happy with the result, so much so that I did a mini photo session with flowers that I had cut that morning in search of experimenting new tonalities.
I got beige color by the way...

¿Porque la gente que no es Artista o Dibujante siempre desprecian ciertas técnicas?
Aunque incluso en artistas he visto este comportamiento...
Siempre he sido asiduo a mostrar mis dibujos a mis amigos, familiares, maestros y demás; pero siempre he notado cierto cambio de energía en ellos apenas comentó ciertas cosas.
Curiosamente, algunas técnicas parecen no impresionar, incluso cuando se llevan a cabo con mucho esmero y dedicación, incluso con esta obra me ha llegado a pasar lo mismo.
Las acuarelas suelen impresionar o siendo un poco menos exagerados, Gustar
Pero este dibujo es simplemente algo que no llama la atención de los demás ¿Porque lo hice?
Pues esta claro, porque quiero expresarlo libremente, a mi manera, aunque termine sin gustar del todo. Y es que, quiero hacer cosas simples, cosas que me distraigan, que me relajen, que sienta que son un desahogo y que son; en alguna forma, algo que ayude a mi psiquis.
Las pinceladas de la acuarela cubren el lienzo como las nubes cubren un cielo, que al colocarle otros colores oscurezcan o aclaren dependiendo del caso, como si arreciara o llegara la tempestad.
Las lineas llenan mi mente como un mar calmo que va creciendo poco a poco pero que no deja su sosiego.
Pero dejando de lado las vibras que me puede transmitir...
🌱 El Proceso 🌱
He de decir que, este dibujo nació de una peculiar y simplona forma, como una mancha de la misma acuarela en una hoja, una especie de pareidolia que asemejaba un hombre de largo cabello ondulado como los antiguos vikingos.
Solo que sin barba claro...
Y pues, no tenía mucho tiempo, universidad entre otras cosas, así que sin pensar mucho solo decidí comenzar a trazarlo.
Como no estoy acostumbrado a dibujar hombres, ni ciertos rasgos sin que parezcan de anime, tuve que pedir ayuda de un modelo. Solo tengo dos hermanas, y son las que siempre están dispuestas a ayudarme (Si están de buen humor)
Mi segunda hermana menor fue la indicada, ya que la primera estaba ocupada, la coloqué en cierta posición y comencé a arreglar el boceto.
Gracias a ella, el hombre terminó con ciertos rasgos finos, pero me gustó.
La siguiente fase fue mucho mas fácil y entretenida, como de costumbre, preparé mi acuarela y comencé a dar pinceladas de dos tonos distintos de verdes junto con algo de goteado.
Esperé a que la acuarela se secara mientras tomaba los colores y seleccionaba los que mas se ajustaran.
Sus cabellos obviamente fueron lo mas grato.
Era como dibujar un torbellino, como las lineas de las páginas apiladas de un libro.
Para parte de la forma del cabello también me guié de mi hermana, quien también tenia un ondulado y largo cabello. Tenía pero se lo cortó...
Una vez aquellas lineas terminaron, solo tuve que sombrear un poco en ciertos lugares y agregar detalles con color.
Aunque no es de mis obras mas detalladas me siento muy orgulloso de ella y contento con el resultado, tanto así que le hice una mini sesión de fotos con flores que había cortado esa mañana en busca de experimentar nuevas tonalidades.
Obtuve color beige por cierto...
