Sanctus Vicar fanart for Splinterlands social media challenge .

Hello, Splinterlands fans.

Hope everyone is well. Today I'm here to share my new artwork for the Splinterlands Social Media Challenge. After the amazing response to my fan art last week, I was inspired to draw another new character. This time I'm reimagining Sanctus Vicar from Splinterlands. I've attached a picture of the original card in this post so you can see the difference between my art and the original card and enjoy my own style.

Sanctus Vicar is a character who embodies strength, balance, and the power of fire and water. With this artwork, I tried to highlight the duality of his powers—the fierce intensity of fire and the calm flow of water. My goal was to highlight these characteristics of him and clearly portray his confident personality.

I first started with a rough sketch, focusing on his posture and strength. I wanted Sanctus Vicar to stand in a way that seemed to be channeling power and expressing movement at the same time. After the basic sketch was finished, I focused on adding details, especially his muscular structure and the strong expression on his face.

I did the art using Adobe Illustrator. Next came the color work, which was the most exciting step for me! Inspired by the original card, I chose a vibrant palette—red and orange for the fire on one side, and blue and azure for the water power on the other. This color contrast highlights his dual nature and makes the artwork even more interesting.

For the background, I chose a different design that was all red. Because it matched the character so well. It highlighted his elemental mastery, fire. To further enhance the power of the art, I added a light shimmering effect to the fire, making it look more alive and dynamic.

Watching the work come together at each step was a unique experience. From the initial sketch to the final illustration, each step was challenging but also very enjoyable. I have also attached progress shots in this post so you can see how the art was created step by step.
