Miniature wooden sculpture and digital 3D glitch art / Mini-escultura de madera y arte digital glitch3D

It's been a long time since I did handicrafts, crafts and art in general in wood was my favorite hobby in 2014, when I practiced with different types of wood.

Now I have a new tool, it is a drill and with it I will be able to do many more projects, this is just the beginning to get familiar with my new working tool.

I used to make puppets and I think I willget back to it again at some point but for the moment I will make a miniature sculpture with wood left over, scrap wood from other projects from years ago, working with this material brought me a lot of nostalgia because making this kind of art is something that I really needed really bad.

Hace mucho tiempo que no hacia trabajos manuales, las artesanias y arte en general en madera era mi pasatiempo preferido el año 2014, cuando practiqué con diferentes tipos de madera.

Ahora tengo una nueva herramienta, es un taladro y con él podré hacer muchos más proyectos, este es solo el principio para familiarizarme con mis nueva herramienta de trabajo.

Yo solía hacer marionetas y creo que lo voy a retomar, por el momento haré una escultura en miniatura con maderitas que sobraron de otros proyectos de hace años, trabajar con este material me trajo mucha nostalgia pues hacer este tipo de arte es algo que realmente me hacia mucha falta.

Process / Proceso

The first thing I did was make a hole in the sticks that I had as a scrao wood kn my house.

Lo primero que hice fue perforar con el taladro unas pequeños palitos que tenia guardados en mi casa.

After that I put the screws in place

Después puse tornillos en su lugar

Believe it or not, my design is done, I like to keep it simple, most of the time less is more.

Y aunque usted no lo crea , ¡ya está! Me gusta lo simple, muchas veces menos es más.

For the nose I put a screw with a hole, but it was looking too weird, like an elephant looking robot, so I decided to cut a match an carve a wooden nose for the wooden robot.

Para la nariz puse un tornillo con un agujero, pero lucia un poco raro, la nariz lo hacia parecer casi como un elefante, asi que decidí cortar un fosforo y tallar una nariz de madera para el robot de madera.

To give you a reference of the size, this is the picture of my new drilling machine.

Para darte una referencia del tamaño, esta es una foto con mi nuevo taladro.

In this animation I put a mirror filter to have a moving siames looking character.

En esta animación apliqué el filtro de espejo para ese efecto de siames en el personaje

I love some effects specially because sometimes they change completely the concept from the work, for example this filer makes it look like its made of steel and its looks creepy, contrary of the cute aspect of the original picture.

Algunos efectos me gustan sobre todo porque cambian casi totalmente el mismo concepto inicial de la obra, en este caso parece hecho de acero y se ve un poco tenebroso, contrario al aspecto tierno del mismo.

After a digital manipulation process applied to the photograph of the character, I have noticed that suddenly we cant really tell it was made of wood and screws so, we got rid of the medium and now we get the pure concept, lines and shapes.

I like this one because its like a 3d

Stop Motion

I made an animation with the stop motion technique , I realized that I can make short gifs ,they are so fun. This is what I like about marionettes, telling stories and with animation this is posible, that and much more.

Hice una animación cuadro por cuadro, me di cuenta que se puede hacer pequeños gifs con esta técnica, es por eso que me gustaba hacer marionetas, me gusta contar historias y con la animación , esto es posible y mucho más.
