Jiustyn, Longing for the Past

Happy Thursday my dear people, I hope you are great, this time I come to share an illustration more related to the field of magic and sorcery; my last creations on the theme of magic in the last couple of months have been focused on female characters female characters and this time I wanted to vary a little and focus on a new character that was something like a kind of mature man with amazing and mysterious powers. The character I decided to create this time is about a middle-aged man called (Jiustyn) which is almost a hermit, a lonely man who after losing his wife and his only son because of a strange plague that struck the town where they lived decided to embark on a journey around the world trying to find the power either natural or magical to bring them back to life; In the time that (Jiustyn) has wandered the world has not been able to find that longed magical power that allows him to revive their loved ones, but still has been made with another kind of magical powers which allow him among other things to generate energy in the palm of your hand and use it at will:

Feliz jueves mi querida gente, espero que se encuentren genial, en esta ocasión les vengo a compartir una ilustración mas relacionada con el ámbito de la magia y la hechicería; mis ultimas creaciones sobre el tema de la magia en el último par de meses han ido enfocadas en personajes femeninos personajes femeninos y esta vez quise variar un poco y centrarme en un nuevo personaje que fuese algo así como una especie de hombre maduro con asombrosos y misteriosos poderes. El personaje que decidí crear esta ocasión se trata como ya les comenté antes de un hombre de edad madura llamado (Jiustyn) el cual es casi un ermitaño, un hombre solitario que luego de haber perdido a su esposa y a su único hijo a causa de una extraña plaga que azoto al pueblo donde vivían decidió emprender un viaje por el mundo tratando de encontrar el poder ya sea natural o mágico para regresarlos a la vida; en el tiempo que (Jiustyn) ha deambulado por el mundo no ha podido encontrar ese tan anhelado poder mágico que le permita revivir a sus seres queridos, pero aun así se ha hecho con otra clase de poderes mágicos los cuales le permiten entre otras cosas generar energía en la palma de su mano y utilizarla a su antojo:

For my main sketch I decided to create (Jiustyn) with a full body structure, I gave him an appearance as if he was about 50 years old and I drew him standing on a kind of mountain hill with both arms open to the sides and with his palms open as if he was preparing to make use of his magical powers; for the color palette I used for example a deep orange tone to create a somewhat tanned skin, then for the shape of the face and the details of the volume of the skin I was inclined to use a brush like watercolor to get a texture a little more specific and of course to take advantage of the blending effect that watercolor strokes provide. The eyes are normally in colors like brown, blue, green, etc, but as this would be a character related to magic I decided to forget the common tones and go more towards a range of reddish tones to give a little drama to the expression of the look of (Jiustyn); having finished the expression of the face I took advantage that I was in this area and painted the hair of my character, here I had it quite easy because as he wears a hooded cloak I only drew a little blond hair to the sides and with the beard I did a similar process but I populated it only a little more at the bottom.

Para mi boceto principal decidí crear a (Jiustyn) con una estructura corporal completa, le di una apariencia como si tuvieses una edad aproximada de 50 años y lo dibuje parado en una especie de colina de montaña con ambos brazos abiertos hacia los lados y con sus palmas abiertas como si se preparara para hacer uso de sus poderes mágicos; para la paleta de colores use por ejemplo un tono naranja profundo para crear una piel un tanto bronceada, luego para la forma de la cara y los detalles de volumen de la piel me incline por usar un pincel como el acuarela para conseguir una textura un poco mas especifica y por supuesto para aprovechar el efecto de mezcla que otorgan los trazos con acuarela. Los ojos normalmente son de colores como el marrón, azul, verde, etc, pero como este se trataría de un personaje relacionado con la magia decidí olvidarme de los tonos comunes e irme mas hacia una gama de tonalidades rojizas para darle un poco de dramatismo a la expresión de la mirada de (Jiustyn); habiendo terminado la expresión del rostro aproveche que me encontraba por esta zona y pinte el cabello de mi personaje, aquí la tenía bastante fácil ya que como lleva una capa con capucha solo dibuje un poco de cabello rubio hacia los lados y con la barba hice un proceso similar pero la poblé solo un poco más en la parte de abajo.

In the process of creating the garment I knew it would take me a little longer since I created an outfit composed of several sections and therefore I took my time to give the necessary detail to each of the garments, for the torso I used a lighter color to try to create a kind of loose nightgown with long sleeves; then for the legs I created a kind of pants also somewhat loose and wide with intermediate brown color collected at the bottom and kept inside his boots. For the boots I opted for a very deep and dark brown to get a contrast and to show the difference between the texture of the pants and the boots, especially because these boots try to give them a leather look; finally for the cape or tunic I tried to work the tones and especially the texture of the brushes to achieve a slightly thicker appearance, first I was creating some long lines for the folds of the tunic, then I was detailing a little with brightness the areas closer to the natural light of the environment with a little coppery brown and finally I applied some very light lines to give some shine to the tunic.

En el proceso de creación de la vestimenta sabía que me tardaría un poco más ya que cree un atuendo compuesto por varias secciones y por ello me tome mi tiempo para darle el detalle necesario a cada una de las prendas, para la parte del torso use un color mas claro para tratar de crear una especie de camisón holgado de mangas largas; después para las piernas cree una especie de pantalón igualmente un tanto holgado y ancho con color marrón intermedio recogido en la parte de abajo y guardado dentro de sus botas. Para las botas opte mejor por un marrón muy profundo y oscuro para conseguir así un contraste y que se viera la diferencia entre la textura del pantalón y de las botas, sobre todo porque estas botas trate de darles una apariencia de cuero; finalmente para la capa o túnica trate de trabajar los tonos y sobre todo las textura de los pinceles para lograr una apariencia un poco más gruesa, primero fui creando algunas líneas largas para los pliegues de la túnica, luego fui detallando un poco con brillos las zonas más cercanas a la luz natural del ambiente con un poco de marrón cobrizo y al final aplique unas leves líneas muy claras para darle algo de brillo a la túnica.

The scenery of my work I wanted it to be a kind of open night plane, something like a wooded path covered by many bushes, first I created a base milk of bushes with a brush of Sai leaves texture; I was creating and covering much of the lower area and the sides of my canvas with a green in varying intensities to create the bushes as realistic as possible. Then to accompany the background and at the same time give a bit of illumination to the whole work, it occurred to me that I could paint a kind of huge full moon in the back that would illuminate the entire forest path; to transmit that (Jiustyn) is about to make use of his magical powers what I did was to create some kind of auras with airbrush in the hands of the character, then I blurred them a little with the gaussian blur and on these remains of strokes I was creating some textures like brush strands with open tips, and as a final touch I applied the layer effect (Shine) and illuminated a little the magical energy that (Jiustyn) is about to throw from his hands.

El escenario de mi obra quise que fuese una especie de plano nocturno abierto, algo así como un camino boscoso cubierto por muchos arbustos, primero cree una leche base de arbustos con un pincel de textura de hojas de Sai; fui creando y cubriendo gran parte de la zona baja y los lados de mi lienzo con un verde en variación de intensidades para crear los arbustos lo mas realistas posibles. Luego par acompañar el fondo y al mismo tiempo darle un poco de iluminación a toda la obra se me ocurrió que podía pintar una especie de luna llena enorme atrás que iluminara todo el sendero del bosque; para lograr trasmitir que (Jiustyn) esta apunto de hacer uso de sus poderes mágicos lo que hice fue crear unas especies de auras con aerógrafo en las manos del personaje, luego las difumine un poco con el desenfoque gaussiano y sobre estos restos de trazos fui creando un poco de texturas como de hebras de cepillo con puntas abiertas, y como toque final aplique el efecto de capa (Shine) e ilumine un poco el energía mágica que (Jiustyn) esta apunto de arrojar desde sus manos.
