As if I don't already have enough to do I have decided to learn Blender! I am plagued with always wanting to learn all the things and blender has been on my list for a long time. I always though 3D software looked quite intimidating so I kept putting it off, but something finally nagged me enough that I decided to download it (it's free and open source!) and get started on some tutorials!
I have been following the beginner series by Grant Abbitt which is excellent, hands on and very well explained!
Blender is a pretty powerful program which allows modelling, sculpting, shading, lighting, animation and more. I am feeling pretty confident that I have the very basics down which has allowed me to play around and do some experimenting. Here are some samples of my output.
Robot
Floating spiky spaceship thing?
Adding my art as textures to objects!
and now I am exploring how to use keyframes to animate:
I'm pretty excited to see how I can integrate 3D images in my work, I have lots of ideas that are probably far ahead of my skills right now, so I will keep learning one tutorial at a time.
If you are interested in learning I suggest jumping in right away, there is never a better time than now and once you start it is actually not so intimidating :)

That first one has GOT TO BE the greatest of the Hive whales!
These are all impressive ... the spiky spaceship-looking one is worthy of a series of stories all its own.
MUAHAHAHHAHAAAA YOU HAVE BEEN ASSIMILATED.
I mean, welcome to the club ;D you picked a good version to learn with, this one seems to be the easiest to pick up unlike the one I started with. Looks like you're going good and there's a number of us kicking around if you have questions :)
Thanks ryivhnn! I have noticed that some tutorials use older versions where things aren't exactly the same but otherwise I'm pleasantly surprised by the amount of tutorials and info out there :)
You have a great progress! Keep learning! I watched this video course too)
