Pumpkin man

It has been a few days before I got back from the gates of hell, but hey! how've you guys been doing?
I've been looking after a lab grandma of mine this week because the lab head has been staying at the lab and she struggles to sleep alone. So for the past few days, she's been sleeping with me in my room since I'm the only one with enough space in the room for 2 beds. Unfortunately, it's been a struggle to draw with her around because sge either asks me to continue working with her, or she turns off the lights extremely early so I can't even draw or read and i just stare at pitch darkness for a few hours until my body falls asleep at its fixed time.


Luckily, i have a 1 hour gap between ending my shift and dinner so in that 6pm-7pm gap, i have temporary peace in my room and time to draw something.

Materials: Markers, black and white charcoal pencils, white gel pen
Duration: A broken 3 hours total

So I know it's not so good and I know I need a lot more work on my marker skills, but what do you guys think? the blending is still pretty nice and I can't believe actually blending everything and waiting for the ink to dry takes a while.

Also, I haven't used markers enough but I love this touch5 marker set I got because of how pigmented it is.

I didn't have the time nor peace to capture as many layering as I could on the progression so I'm already apologising in advance.

for the base, i started off with a yellow ochre marker becthe orange I had was too tinted to work with my pumpkin monster concept. this one was a bit more muted and I liked that because it's very autumn.

I started this on monday noght, actually then I realised that I didn't take a progress shot by the end of my short drawing hour. But this was Tuesday's progress. kind of sad that I couldn't finish it on Tuesday, else, i could have posted it already.

this is halfway through my Wednesday drawing session, unfortunately it was cut short because I was asked to attend a few more after office hours meeting to cater to our international clients. And O get scolded a lot when they see that I'm not listening so I definitely tried to sneak in the rest of the strokes until I finished it.

And so, it is now Thursday and all my meetings for the day have ended and the company dinner outside is done so I can finally have the time and peace to add the finishing touches to this and write.
