Process in pictures - Proceso en imágenes

The mind is an immense sea of thoughts, goals, search for solutions, but it is also a sea of memories, past experiences, which are captured like letters in an old book that from time to time we dust off and look at from a distance in time.

These letters on paper that is now old and even torn by the passing of the years, but with the clear look of a soul that does not age but improves every day.

Writings made with the pen of time that gives colour to the present even if the past remains in sepia.

Design process

The design was made using 7 images and working them in 14 layers within the free AI Photoshop.

For the background I chose an image of paper or texture in soft colours that I duplicated and changed its position and tonality, placing it in the darkest colour fusion.

Then, on top of that, I placed the image of the overlapping papers in two layers with soft light and focal light blends.

The image of the woman I worked on in three layers with fusions of focal light, normal light and soft light. In the last two I erased almost everything except part of the hair and eyes to focus on those features.

In between the layers of the woman I placed the third and fourth paper with old texture and arranged them in several layers with darker colour and soft light fusions. The black and white written image gave the design a special touch.

Finally I placed the carnations in the design, one on one of the background layers with focal light blending and the other two layers on the topmost part of the design with darker colour blending.

I finished the design with the feather, which has a layer, light blending and a drop shadow layer style.

The animation is done completely in After Effects, working on the opacity of each layer and adding lights in the form of clouds for better contrast.

La mente es un mar inmenso de pensamientos, metas, búsqueda de soluciones, pero también es un mar de recuerdos, vivencias pasadas, que quedan plasmadas como letras en un libro antiguo que de vez en cuando desempolvamos y miramos a la distancia en el tiempo.

Esas letras en un papel ya viejo y hasta quebrado por el paso de los años, pero con la mirada nítida del alma que no envejece, sino que mejora cada día.

Escritos hechos con la pluma del tiempo que da color al presente, aunque el pasado quede en sepias.

Proceso del diseño

El diseño lo realicé usando 7 imágenes y trabajándolas en 14 capas dentro del Photoshop libre de IA.

Para el fondo elegí una imagen de papel o textura de colores suaves que dupliqué y cambié de posición y tonalidad, colocándole la fusión de color más oscuro.

Luego, sobre lo anterior, puse la imagen de los papeles superpuestos en dos capas con fusiones de luz suave y luz focal.

La imagen de la mujer la trabajé en tres capas con fusiones de luz focal, normal y luz suave. En las últimas dos borré casi todo menos parte del cabello y de los ojos para enfocar esos rasgos.

Entre medio de las capas de la mujer coloqué el tercer y cuarto papel con textura antigua y los dispuse en varias capas con fusiones de color más oscuro y luz suave. La imagen escrita en blanco y negro le dio al diseño un toque especial.

Finalmente puse los claveles en el diseño, uno en una de las capas del fondo con fusión de luz focal y las otras dos capas en la parte más superior del diseño con fusión de color más oscuro.

Terminé el diseño con la pluma, la cual tiene una capa, fusión de luminosidad y un estilo de capa de sombra paralela.

La animación está realizada completamente en After Effects, trabajando la opacidad de cada capa y agregando luces en forma de nubes para un mejor contraste.
