π₯πHello hello communityπ₯π, once again we meet this time to bring you a very special work full of religious iconography of Catholicism and a fashion collection that represented a before and after for the designer Jean Paul Gaultier and the visualization of his fashion for the spring 2007 collection, which personally is one of my favorites for all that it implies, his performances and the way in which religion crosses borders and is broken down into unique pieces worthy of being exhibited in museums over time.
For the inspiration I took as a reference a dress with headdress that makes illusion the virgin mary but in a more real way, a more palpable and actual woman, where predominate the intense red and blue colors, bathed in gold and soft and smooth skin, so the composition of the initial sketch is about a woman with expressive eyes and full lips with a whitish and soft skin dressed with blue fabrics and a veil of the same tone accompanied by a crown and headdress, messy hair that is appreciated in a very reserved way and tears of blood in a lost look.
This work I dedicated special detail to the crown that adorns her head, achieving an effect in gold that I had never achieved before, and of which I am very proud, it was a construction of several capable between brown and ocher tones, and then giving the necessary brightness so that the lights and shadows gave a much cleaner and realistic finish but without losing the sense of my drawing style, the skin was also with great detail as I wanted to achieve a finish similar to a baroque painting full of softness and total mixture between lights and shadows making it look soft and ethereal.
For the makeup I wanted to accentuate her look with a set of shadows in warm tones with full eyebrows and highlighter on the cheeks and nose, juicy and natural looking lips with a light pink gloss, and voluminous eyelashes with a blush tone in a very subtle pink to give more life to the skin and I added an anatomical heart making reference to the mother's love even after a difficult path.
I thank you for making it this far and if you liked it let me know in the comments, I hope to meet you later in a new post so I send you kisses and shines to wherever you are, and remember that fashion can go beyond borders and play with things that are as everyday as Catholicism in people's lives, the Gaultier fashion house is undoubtedly one of my favorites.
This is really beautiful. I relly like the style of this artwork and the composition is very well done!
