I had a long time without drawing Spirit of the forest and this week I wanted to choose her for my entry to the @Splinterlands contest, this time I wanted to recreate her in a kind of forest, with daylight, I wanted to make her quite faithful to the original but obviously in my style, it was quite difficult to achieve a correct color in the skin, besides I had problems with one of her eyes haha, but I still managed to fix it and I really liked the final result, maybe something that I didn't like at all was the hair, but it was really complicated to work with so many shades of green and try not to make everything look the same, I hope you like it.
I made my sketch and began to paint the skin choosing quite light green tones and for the shadows some more opaque ones, for the neck I used a green color with brown tone, in a new layer I added more colors to form completely the face, then I mixed the colors giving a softer and more realistic finish to the skin but keeping some texture, for the hair I played with green tones trying that they were not completely equal to those of the skin, then I painted the clothes.
I added some lights and shadows to the clothes without exaggerating since I didn't need too many details, the eyes were a big problem, it was never the way I drew it in the sketch, I fixed it several times but for some reason the right eye was always very inclined, at the end I fixed it and managed to place it straight duplicating the layer of the drawing and selecting the eye, for the background I made a background with forest details using a diffuse brush since I wanted that effect behind, then I added lights to the face and parts of the background that I wanted to highlight, I finished editing the image giving it a stronger tone to the colors and increasing the contrast and sharpness.
