Golden Girl

Hola amigos. Hace unas semanas vi unos dibujos en tonos dorados que me gustaron mucho y quise realizar mi versión, el color dorado es un tono que realmente no manejo demasiado bien asi que me guie de diferentes referencias para poder crear mi versión, sustrayendo algunos de los colores que vi para poder ayudar a mi cerebro a entender como crear tonos dorados perfectos. Este dibujo me gustó mucho, aunque fue difícil de trabajarlo ya que estos colores suelen hacer demasiado ruido en mis ojos. Tambien algo difícil y que destaco mucho de este dibujo fue la venda en los ojos ya que normalmente hacer vendas en los ojos para mi es complicado, intentar que se vea realista y no como una línea plana es todo un logro, espero que les guste.

Hello friends. A few weeks ago I saw some drawings in golden tones that I really liked and wanted to make my own version. The color gold is a tone I don't really handle too well, so I used different references to create my version, subtracting some of the colors I saw to help my brain understand how to create perfect golden tones. I really liked this drawing, although it was difficult to work with since these colors tend to make too much noise in my eyes. Also something difficult and that I really highlight about this drawing was the blindfold since normally making blindfolds is complicated for me, trying to make it look realistic and not like a flat line is quite an achievement. I hope you like it.

Proceso/Process

Comencé realizando el boceto y luego pintando la piel usando tonos amarillos y marrones, me daba mucho miedo que luciera mal, pero intente confiar en el proceso y agregue mas colores para darle mejor forma al rostro, cuando ya tenia todo bien estructurado comencé a mezclar los colores dejando una piel mas suave. Pinte las vendas con marrón claro y luego la cambie a un tono amarillo para ir agregándole sombras y luces. De igual manera pinte la ropa con marrón y debajo de las vendas quise agregar unas lagrimas negras cayendo por el rostro.

I started by sketching and then painting the skin using yellow and brown tones. I was really afraid it would look bad, but I tried to trust the process and added more colors to give the face a better shape. Once I had everything well structured, I began to mix the colors, leaving a softer skin. I painted the bandages with a light brown and then changed it to a yellow tone to add shadows and highlights. I also painted the clothes with brown, and under the bandages, I wanted to add some black tears falling down the face.

Agregue luces y sombras tanto al vendaje como a la ropa, creando pliegues que simulan la tela. Pinte el cabello de marrón y luego lo cambie a un tono igualmente dorado agregando diferentes tonos de amarillo y color crema. Para el fondo agregue un color marrón y algunas líneas de un color mas oscuro en forma de grietas, añadí luces en zonas que quería resaltar y finalice haciendo un ajuste de color muy leve.

I added highlights and shadows to both the bandage and the clothing, creating folds that mimic fabric. I painted the hair brown and then changed it to an equally golden hue by adding different shades of yellow and cream. For the background, I added a brown color and some darker lines in the form of cracks. I added lights in areas I wanted to highlight, and finished with a very slight color adjustment.
