Frost — Hive

Hola amigos. En el dibujo de hoy estoy usando nuevamente tonalidades azules ya que son mis favoritas, pero quise llevarlo a un tono un poco mas grisáceo, tambien busque pintar con mucha textura para hacerlo lucir como una pintura ya que me encanta bastante este acabado, aun asi siento que me falta mejorar un poco las pinceladas para conseguir una textura mas rustica o no se como llamarlo, pero en mi mente veía el dibujo un poco más desordenado. Algo que me costó muchísimo fue pintar los labios con tonos pálidos, pero quise intentarlo ya que muy pocas veces lo hago, casi siempre la mayoría de mis dibujos tienen labios muy pronunciados y coloridos. Espero que les guste.

Hello, friends. In today's drawing, I'm using blue tones again since they're my favorites, but I wanted to make them a little more grayish. I also tried to paint with a lot of texture to make it look like a painting since I really love this finish. Even so, I feel like I need to improve my brushstrokes a little to achieve a more rustic texture, or I don't know what to call it, but in my mind, I saw the drawing as a little more messy. Something that was very difficult for me was painting the lips in pale tones, but I wanted to try it since I rarely do it. Most of my drawings have very pronounced and colorful lips. I hope you like it.

Proceso/Process

Realice el boceto y comencé a pintar la piel usando azules muy pálidos y para las sombras son colores marrones fríos y azules oscuros, para las mejillas y labios use un morado clarito. Luego agregue mas colores en otra capa para formar por completo el rostro y comenzar a mezclar con el pincel de textura de tiza, con una opacidad media y dando brochazos no tan perfectos. Aun asi siento que la piel quedo bastante suave y no tan texturada como quería.

I made the sketch and began painting the skin using very pale blues and cool browns and dark blues for the shadows. For the cheeks and lips, I used a light purple. Then I added more colors in another layer to completely form the face and began to blend with the chalk texture brush, using medium opacity and not-so-perfect brushstrokes. Even so, I feel that the skin turned out quite smooth and not as textured as I wanted.

Luego pinté el cabello con un azul muy oscuro y agregué leves iluminaciones con azul pálido. Para el fondo use una gama de azules diferentes mezclándolos entre si con el pincel de textura de tiza. Finalmente ilumine el rostro y realice un leve ajuste de color.

Then I painted the hair a very dark blue and added subtle highlights with pale blue. For the background, I used a range of different blues, blending them together with the chalk texture brush. Finally, I highlighted the face and made a slight color adjustment.
