Hello, dear friends of the community, there is nothing better than a request from a friend to let my imagination and creativity run wild. The fan art craft that I share with you today comes from the celebration of my friend's son's 8th birthday. He loves Pokemon movies and, of course, his favorite character is Pikachu.

On the one hand, he had a birthday, on the other hand, he had Pikachu, so I decided to make the candle holder for the cake with this theme. This decoration is composed of two main elements: a pokeball and a number 8 in the shape of Pikachu, in which the candle is placed. I used foami and other recycled materials, which I show you below.

Hola, queridos amigos de la comunidad, no hay nada mejor que una petición de una amiga para echar a volar mi imaginación y creatividad. La manualidad fan art que les comparto el día de hoy surge a partir de la celebración del cumpleaños número 8 del hijo de mi amiga. A este le gustan mucho las películas de Pokémon y, como no podía ser de otra manera, su personaje favorito es Pikachu.

Por una parte, tenía un cumpleaños, por otro lado, tenía a Pikachu, por lo cual decidí hacer el portavelas para la tarta con esta temática. Dicha decoración está compuesta por dos elementos principales: una pokebola y un número 8 con forma de Pikachu, en la cual va colocada la vela. Para la realización de este trabajo empleé foami y otros materiales reciclados, los cuales les muestro a continuación.

⚡️Step by step // Paso a paso⚡️

To make the pokeball I used two recycled light bulbs, because after so much searching I couldn't find a ball the size I wanted, they were all too small. I inserted one bulb inside the other and pressed until it was as round as possible. With a domestic iron, heat the white and red foami to thermoform it and so the ball will be well lined.

Para hacer la pokebola utilicé dos focos de bombillos reciclados, pues después de tanto buscar no encontré una bola del tamaño que quería, todas eran demasiado pequeñas. Introduje un foco dentro del otro y presioné hasta que quedara lo más redondo posible. Con una plancha doméstica, calentar el foami blanco y rojo para termoformarlo y así quedará bien forrada la bola.

I cut a strip of black foami and glued it in the center of the ball, taking advantage of the design to cover the union of the two colors. Then I made two circles of black and white, the latter a little smaller and glued them in the center of the black strip.

Corté una tira de foami negro y lo pegué en el centro de la bola, aprovechando el diseño para tapar la unión de los dos colores. Luego hice dos círculos de color negro y blanco, este último un poco más pequeño y los pegué en el centro de la tira negra.

On a sheet of paper I drew the silhouette of a number 8 to use as a mold, cut it out and marked it on a piece of polyfoam. I carefully cut with a cutter all the excess polyfoam until I got a nice number 8 1.5 cm wide.

En una hoja de papel dibujé la silueta de un número 8 para utilizarlo como molde, lo recorté y marqué en una pieza de poliespuma. Corté cuidadosamente con un cúter todo el exceso de poliespuma hasta lograr un lindo número 8 de 1.5 cm de ancho.

To cover it I used yellow foami, for this I marked the outline of the number twice to glue it on the front and back. Then I cut a strip of the corresponding width to cover the entire edge. Only the inside of the two circles were left without color, but it was difficult to line it with foami so I painted them with yellow paint. The number 8 was left, totally yellow.

Para forrarlo utilicé foami amarillo, para ello marqué el contorno del número dos veces para pegarlo por el frente y por detrás. Luego corte una tira del ancho correspondiente para cubrir todo el borde. Solo quedaba sin color la parte interior de los dos círculos, pero era difícil forrarlo con foami así que los pinté con pintura amarilla. Ya quedaba el número 8, totalmente amarillo.

As the idea I had planned was to make the 8 in the shape of a Pikachu, I marked the silhouette of the tail and ears in yellow foami, cut them out and glued them in their corresponding places.

Como la idea que tenía planeada era hacer el 8 con forma de Pikachu, marqué la silueta de la cola y las orejas en foami amarillo, las recorté y las pegué en sus lugares correspondientes.

With paint and a liner brush I painted the tip of the ears black and his little face, as well as the carmine part of the tail. Then I chose a yellow birthday candle to match the whole theme and, after making a hole with a needle in the center of the ears, I inserted the candle.

Con pintura y un pincel liner pinté la punta de las orejas de color negro y su carita, así como la parte carmelita de la cola. Luego escogí una vela de cumpleaños de color amarillo para que combinara con toda la temática y, después de hacer un orificio con una aguja en el centro de las orejas, introduje la vela.

For the base I used a Pringles lid and decorated it with white foami. To make this lace-like shape I used a cutting die with this shape. Then glue all this ribbon around the edge of the lid.

Para la base utilicé una tapa de Pringles y la decoré con foami blanco. Para hacer esta forma como de encaje utilice un troquel de corte con esta forma. Luego pegue toda esta cinta por el borde de la tapa.

With the three elements of the design completed, all that remained was to join them together.

Con los tres elementos del diseño terminados, solo quedaba unirlos.

And so this beautiful Pikachu themed birthday cake candle holder is finished. It can be used as an ornament for a bedside table or centerpiece, just remove the candle.
