Now I love good animes. I love wonderful scenes, lovely plotlines, the high tension, spike of adrenaline and that relaxing backbreaking comedy.
Thus when I discovered Haikyuu it was love at first site.
I binge watched this anime in the year 2022, bunkering it from my sisters flashdrive and staying up late at night watching and falling in love with all 5 seasons.
After a week of little to no sleep, I was hooked and became one of the die hard fans that was waiting for the hyped dumpster battle between the Crows and the Cats.
And on the 31st of October 2024, it finally came.
Haikyuu: The Dumpster Battle 🏐
Plot
It's finally happening!! The battle of the garbage dump between the Crows Karasuno and the Cats Nekomata.
A match that has been the dream and promise of the two rival teams coach, a rivalry that has spanned 3 generations.
For the players, this is also a promise of their own, rivalries clash and balls are smashed.
A promise between Hinata and Kenma
A match where there are no rematches, where their all is left on the court.
I've been hyped about this for about two years now.
Originally the movie came out on February this year but due to the unfortunate point of location, downloads and viewing were impossible in my country until October 31st.
Immediately I downloaded it, and on the 1st of November, as though entering a new arc in my year, I watched this masterpiece ✨
If I were to give a review of this movie. I'd simply say it was beautiful and mean that with every fibre of my being.
Everybody agrees with it, although there are some who believe it was a bit rushed, I enjoyed the pacing.
It's clear that not everything from the manga would and could be shown in the anime where every scene costs way much more than a panel.
Talking about the scenes, the animation was glorious.
I haven't seen anything like it. This was jujutsu kaisen level or even better.
The final rally for the last five points left me breathless.
I was watching from my laptop but it was so immersive that I could have easily thought that I was in a cinema or even better watching the volleyball match live.
It moved me so much that I couldn't help but squeal (a rather manly squeal mind you) at 3am in the morning of November 1st when I was watching.
The ending of the match was even more of a stunner. The players, the spectators, commentators and viewers (me) was left speechless.
It was rather shocking but quite believable. It's not every winning point that's decided with a powerful spike or crazy play. Sometimes its just a bit of luck.
Regardless, that point brought the match to a close and an emotional exit of one of my two favorite teams from nationals.
I've made a distinct effort to not check the manga so I don't know what's next for Haikyuu, the next match has already been hinted at in the movie and I'm just so excited to see it.
Regardless Toho animation hasn't said anything yet so I'm mulling on the excitement of what I just watched.
Have you watched the movie?
What did you think?
My Instagram page.
This is one of the most anticipated movies of the year, I think the vast majority of spokon fans should know this story.
Thanks for sharing!
I won't be reading this because it could be a spoiler 😂
No spoilers there mate😂😂😂
Just making sure haha lol
Sounds like you had a fun time watching and squealing, lol!
Great that after having to wait so long to be able to watch it, you enjoyed it this much. When one is limited by accessibility issues, it can be a torture not being able to see things on time, I usually isolate myself as much as I can to avoid spoilers.
Hahaha I have no idea about the series or the manga, but the trailer for the movie looks super entertaining, with those very scenic details that define the anime.
I loved this anime and also the movie, it is a very motivating but also funny story.
Watched it yesterday, and I was planning to write the review.
But, good work 🔥
(Haikyuu!!! is the best sports anime, there's no doubt about it
