I didn't really expect that I would like it. I thought it would be boring because it has music in its theme (and school—I'm steering clear with school romance for now—and thank God it didn't have one!), but it turns out the shamisen performances are interesting. The clash of sounds were really enthralling, and it was really a realistic peek on how it is to be a musician and also how Japanese performing arts usually looks and sounds like. It's fascinating how the shamisen players look like they're only randomly plucking strings, but it turns out those plucking ends up into a melodious and affecting tune.
