Hello Anime Lovers!

I always love anime with light, bubbly, and funny animation styles because they make me smile and relieve some of my stress. With that being said, the 'Tis Time for "Torture," (S1 E1) is exactly what I like. The protagonist named "Princess" has a bubbly personality and seems to be susceptible to delicious food like toasts, takoyaki, and of course Ramen.

Plot

"S1 E1" starts with a battle between "Princess" and her army against a monster and then transitions to a prison where "Princess" is held captive while her talking sword named "Ex" is with her and is slightly buried on the floor. A female arrives and starts to torture her unconventionally.

Toast

The torture starts with a toast to which "Princess" went crazy with it. Ex tried to help Princess but she couldn't resist. This scene made me smile because of the way it was animated and how Princess talked too fast while resisting the toast. I think this scene is very light to consume and can make anyone smile a little bit.

Takoyaki

Princess fell to the toast torture and of course, she also fell for takoyaki. And just like in the toast scene "Ex" tried to help Princess but she still fell for the temptation brought by the takoyaki. The narrative of this scene is that Princess has never eaten takoyaki but a clever addition of a flashback where she is seeing normal people buying it and they seem to be happy was enough for Princess to fall for the torture once again.

Ramen

In the third and final attempt of "Torture Tortura" to sway Princess in divulging secrets she employed her best weapon yet in torturing Princess, Ramen. To be honest, this scene made me crave Ramen which I had last eaten about two years ago.

Since the torture started with food I thought of Ramen as one of the foods that is going to be used in the torture and I was right. But I failed to think about Takoyaki. It is only fitting to use Toast, Takoyaki, and Ramen since this is an anime.

Conclusion

Just like I said this episode is very light to consume, of course, it will not make you stressed and can make you smile a little bit. The reaction of the Princess to the food could have been more intense in that way she would have looked very affected by the mere presence of the food unless the writer made "Princess" that way.
