Hello friends today I bring you a great recommendation whether you like anime or not, in fact I am one of those people who are not too attracted to anime series, but when it comes to movies, due to its shorter format I feel more attracted, in this way I found a gem worthy of being reviewed and it seems to me that its creators were quite risky in the argument they handled which could lead you to love or hate the film but what is certain is that it will not go unnoticed.
Hola amigos hoy les traigo una magnífica recomendación tanto si les gusta el anime como si no, de hecho soy de esas personas a las que no les atraen demasiado las series anime, pero cuando se trata de películas, debido a su formato más corto me siento mas atraída, de esta manera me encontré con una joya digna de ser reseñada y es que me parece que sus creadores fueron bastante arriesgados en el argumento que manejaron lo cual podría derivar en que ames u odies el film pero lo que sí es seguro es que no pasará desapercibido.
Overview/Resumen
"Saint Young Men" or “Saint Onii San” shows us a funny probability. What would happen if these two important sacred icons decided to go on vacation together? As if they were just another pair of mortals, Buddha and Jesus dedicate themselves to live the experience of tourists in Japan, these adventures are often fun and sometimes even dangerous, but on the way we can learn in depth the doctrines of each one, which, to the surprise of many, do not differ so much from each other.
"Las Vacaciones de Buda y Jesús" o "Saint Onii San" nos muestra una divertida probabilidad ¿Qué pasaría si estos dos íconos sagrados tan importantes decidieran ir juntos de vacaciones? Tal y como si se tratara de un par de mortales más, Buda y Jesús se dedican a vivir la experiencia de turistas en Japón, estas aventuras muchas veces resultan divertidas y a veces hasta peligrosas pero en el camino podemos conocer a profundidad las doctrinas de cada quien, las cuales, para sorpresa de muchos, no difieren tanto.

My Opinion/Mi Opinión
The plot is audacious without a doubt because it runs the risk of hurting susceptibilities, especially in these days where people get offended very easily, however, if you look at everything from an objective point of view, you will realize that everything was handled with much respect, even when the film is full of hilarious scenes, it is simply, in my humble opinion, a way to “humanize” more these two characters so important for the world, by making them more everyday it is easier for us to identify with them and understand them better, it also allows us to understand that the fact that they are sacred does not mean that they are unreachable, on the contrary, both were in the world before as human beings and lived among us to show us that we can lead a full and harmonious life even with the imperfection of the world, in the film both return to earth to “vacation” to live the experience of the hectic modern world.
El argumento es audaz sin lugar a dudas porque se corre el riesgo de herir susceptibilidades, sobre todo en estos días donde la gente se ofende con mucha facilidad, sin embargo, si miras todo desde un punto de vista objetivo, te darás cuenta de que todo fue manejado con mucho respeto, aún incluso cuando el film está lleno de escenas hilarantes, es simplemente, en mi humilde opinión, una forma de "humanizar" más a estos dos personajes tan importantes para el mundo, al hacerlos más cotidianos es más fácil para nosotros identificarnos con ellos y entenderlos mejor, nos permite entender también que el hecho de que sean sagrados no significa que sean inalcanzables, al contrario, ambos ya estuvieron en el mundo anteriormente como seres humanos y vivieron entre nosotros para demostrarnos que podemos llevar una vida plena y armónica aún y con la imperfección del mundo, en el film ambos regresan a la tierra a "vacacionar" para vivir la experiencia del agitado mundo moderno.
The whole film is full of funny scenes but there were a couple of them that became my favorites, one is where Buddha and Jesus are trying to relax in a sauna and a mobster belonging to the Yakusa thinks that Jesus is a mobster too, he even asks him which gang gave him those scars, everything Jesus says in an innocent way is misinterpreted by the mobster and the others present in the Sauna, things like “I was captured but I came back after three days because of my father's will” makes the others think that he is the son of a very powerful gangster 😄 🤣 😄 🤣 🤣.
Todo el film está lleno de escenas graciosas pero hubo un par de ellas que se convirtieron en mis favoritas, una es donde Buda y Jesús intentan relajarse en un sauna y un mafioso perteneciente a la Yakusa cree que Jesús es un mafioso también, incluso le pregunta que cual pandilla le provocó esas cicatrices, todo lo que Jesús dice de forma inocente es malinterpretado por el mafioso y los otros presentes en el Sauna, cosas como "fui capturado pero regresé a los tres días por interferencia de mi padre" les hace pensar a los demás que él es hijo de un gánster muy poderoso 😄 🤣
And another of the best scenes is where both Buddha and Jesus ride a roller coaster, Jesus enjoys the experience very much but Buddha is so scared that he starts reciting Sutras (Buddhist prayers) he even goes into a trance and from time to time says words like “Seek within yourself, don't follow those who claim to be the way” “follow your own consciousness” “life is a changing flow, the only immovable thing is your own consciousness” ‘do not seek outside yourself, everything is within you’ 🤣 this clearly alludes to Jesus' statement ‘I am the way, the truth and the life’ but clearly Buddha was angry with Jesus for inviting him to ride that roller coaster. Seeing Buddha in that state Jesus begins to seriously worry about him 😂.
Y otra de las mejores escenas es donde ambos, Buda y Jesús, suben a una montaña rusa, Jesús disfruta mucho de la experiencia pero Buda está tan asustado que comienza a recitar Sutras (oraciones budistas) incluso entra en trance y de vez en cuando dice palabras como "Busca dentro de ti, no sigas a los dicen ser el camino" "sigue tu propia consciencia" "la vida es un flujo cambiante, lo único inamovible es tu propia consciencia" "no busques fuera de ti, todo está dentro de ti" 🤣 esto claramente hace alusión a la declaración de Jesús "Yo soy el camino, la verdad y la vida" pero claramente Buda estaba enojado con Jesús por haberlo invitado a subirse en esa montaña rusa. Al ver a Buda en ese estado Jesús comienza a preocuparse en serio por él 😂
I think they are the perfect complement to each other, like those brothers with very different personalities but who need each other very much, in my opinion Buddha is sensible and balanced, while Jesus is very tender, innocent and even childish.
Creo que ambos son el complemento perfecto del otro, como esos hermanos con personalidades muy diferentes pero que se necesitan mucho, en mi opinión Buda es sensato y equilibrado, mientras que Jesús es muy tierno, inocente e incluso pueril.
The most beautiful message of this film is that there is no reason for humanity to fight over politics, ways of thinking and much less for religious reasons, we can all live in perfect harmony in this world, even with our differences, the dogmas of Jesus and Buddha may differ in some aspects but both converge in the love of neighbor, so in this film they take care of each other, love each other and enjoy life without thinking about the aspects that make them different.
El mensaje más hermoso de esta película es que no hay razón para que la humanidad se pelee por política, formas de pensar y mucho menos por causas de religión, todos podemos convivir en perfecta armonía en este mundo, aún y con nuestras diferencias, los dogmas de Jesús y Buda pueden diferir en algunos aspectos pero ambos convergen en el amor al prójimo, por eso en esta película cuidan el uno del otro, se quieren y disfrutan de la vida sin pensar si quiera en los aspectos que los hacen diferentes.
