Eren Yeagar a hero or a villain? 🤔 my point of view: From a naive kid, to a war hero, to an elite soldier, to a war criminal, to a monster...to a hero again

hello hive community, I'm new here and this is my first post. since I love the anime word I thought my first post should be related to it somehow.

that's why i chose to talk about one of my favorite characters in the anime word Eren Yeager in the anime attack on titan.

from the beginning to the end...
Eren Yeager truly is a tragic character. In one day he loses everything even his childhood. Gets to be trained as a soldier from a young age, sees his friends and fellow soldiers dying. His closes friends betrayal and towards the end his dream gets twisted. All of it started with a boy who wanted to see the splendours of the world. A truly tragic story.

I think the point of the manga is to show us, that you shouldn't discriminate against people because of their past mistakes and that if you do, you leave them no other choice than to fight...

the reason they are "evil" is, that you forced them to be evil. The King of Eldia just wanted to live in peace on an island where he can't harm anyone but the rest of the world still hated Eldians, were afraid of them and ultimately wanted them all to die.
So many people died, the Eldians couldn't live in peace and even after 2000 years the rest of the world couldn't forgive and that showed Eren, that there is no other choice. It's either them or the Eldians and he made his decision because for him the only people that matter are his friends. The point of this story isn't to think in black or white or good or evil. The point is, that humanity will always fight, always discriminate against people they are afraid of that both sides are at fault for it and that humanity needs to forgive and stop discriminating against people to the point where violence is the only way out of it. That's my point of view on it at least.
