Ni No Kuni | [(ENG)-(ESP)]

I was interested in the positive criticism that this film had, knowing in advance that the original idea was the product of a game and that is something I do not trust at all, since most movies based on games seem nefarious perhaps due to they come from different worlds and adaptations burn the essence of the original.

In Ni No Kuni this is different and I probably say it because I have never played a game from the successful franchise, in fact I did not even know it existed.

Me resulto interesante la crítica positiva que tenía esta película sabiendo de antemano que la idea original era producto de un juego y eso es algo a lo que no le tengo confianza en absoluto, ya que la mayoría de películas basadas en juegos me parecen nefastas quizás debido a que provienen de mundos distintos y las adaptaciones queman la esencia del original.

En Ni No Kuni esto es diferente y probablemente lo diga porque jamás he tocado algún juego proveniente de la exitosa franquicia, de hecho ni siquiera sabía que existía.

The story is quite predictable, with fantastic elements that we have seen thousands of times in animations and in movies. The typical story of good against evil, magical and otherworldly beings, but it has a peculiar singularity that is that the main characters Yu and Haru are involved between two worlds that alternate as the animation continues.

Yu and Haru have been friends since childhood and students. Their personalities are opposite but not antagonistic because they are united by a close bond of friendship that has lasted for years. Kotona is a girl who is part of this group and together we see them doing childish things at the beginning of the animation but everything changes when Kotona appears a kind of demon wanting to kill her and stabbing her with a dagger.

Yu, in this world he is a paraplegic for as long as he can remember but he is a smart and logical boy while Haru is athletic but impulsive, that does not stop them from being good friends. Haru is in love with Kotona and Yu probably also something that will change when entering the other world.

La historia es bastante predecible, contando con elementos fantásticos que hemos visto miles de veces en animaciones y en películas. La típica historia del bien contra el mal, seres mágicos y de otro mundo pero tiene una peculiar singularidad que es que los personajes principales Yu y Haru se ve envuelta entre dos mundos que se van alternando a medida que la animación sigue en proceso.

Yu y Haru son amigos desde pequeños y estudiantes. Sus personalidades son opuestas más no antagónicas porque los une un estrecho lazo de amistad que ha perdurado por años. Kotona es una chica que es parte de este grupo y juntos los vemos haciendo cosas pueriles al principio de la animación pero todo cambia cuando a Kotona se le aparece una especie de demonio queriendo asesinarla y clavándole un puñal.

Yu, en este mundo es parapléjico desde que tiene memoria pero es un chico listo y lógico mientras que Haru es atlético pero impulsivo, eso no detiene a que sean buenos amigos. Haru está enamorado de Kotona y probablemente Yu también cosa que cambiara al momento de entrar en el otro mundo.

I do not want to give details of how these two boys enter this other Universe but the truth is that they are in a typical world out of any fantasy story. A castle, warriors, and a princess who is identical to Kotona. This last fact has a concept within the film that is called "soul mate", the two girls share a life despite being in different worlds and what happens to one happens to the other.

This pair of boys see the princess of the other world in a bed with a dagger in his chest and Yu (who in this world is not a paraplegic and is a good swordsman) decides to take the dagger from her, saving his life.

From that moment on, events become more interesting and we can see excellent war-scale combat. Two antagonistic sides in this world fight each other as well as Yu and Haru's strong friendship will be put to the test due to certain events.

No quiero dar detalles de cómo este par de chicos entran en este otro Universo pero lo cierto es que se encuentran en un típico mundo salido de cualquier historia de fantasía. Un castillo, guerreros y una princesa que es idéntica a Kotona. Este último hecho tiene un concepto dentro de la película que es llamado “alma gemela”, las dos chicas comparten una vida pese a estar en mundos diferentes y lo que le sucede a una le pasa a la otra.

Este par de chicos ve a la princesa del otro mundo en una cama con un puñal en su pecho y Yu (que en este mundo no es parapléjico y es un buen espadachín) decide quitarle el puñal, salvando su vida.

A partir de ese momento los sucesos se vuelven más interesantes y podremos ver excelentes combates a escala de guerra. Dos bandos antagónicos en este mundo luchan entre si así como la fuerte amistad de Yu y Haru se pondrá a prueba debido a ciertos acontecimientos.

As you can see, it is a simple and not complex story, which from almost the beginning we will be able to know what the end will be, but it is still interesting and entertaining to watch with a call to friendship, love and courage. The fight for love is a constant in this animation, on the one hand Haru wants to save Kotona's life and on the other hand Yu wants to save the life of the princess and Kotona as well, it is at that moment when there is a conflict of interest for a misunderstanding.

Not knowing what the laws are between these two Universes, Yu and Haru are very confused and begin to have altercations. As I said, the fight is for love, however Yu is a boy who knows how to resolve conflicts in a more logical and rational way, wanting the well-being of everyone, which makes him a particularly noble person.

Como podrán notar es una historia sencilla y nada compleja, la cual desde casi un principio podremos saber cuál será el final pero no por ello deja de ser interesante y entretenida de ver con un llamado a la amistad, el amor y la valentía. La lucha por el amor es una constante en esta animación, por un lado Haru desea salvarle la vida a Kotona y por otro lado Yu desea salvarle la vida a la princesa y a Kotona tambien, es en ese momento en que hay un conflicto de intereses por un malentendido.

Al no saber cómo son las leyes entre estos dos Universos Yu y Haru quedan muy confundidos y empiezan a tener altercados. Como dije, la lucha es por amor, sin embargo Yu es un chico que sabe resolver conflictos de manera más lógica y racional, queriendo el bienestar para todos lo que lo convierte en una persona especialmente noble.

The animation is quite clean and the soundtrack in certain moments of action manages to get us even more in the story making it become epic and glorious despite the simple content. I'm not saying it's a bad story, it's simple but quite entertaining, but what I liked the most was the fact that it exalted friendship above anything else and especially the values ​​of the boy named Yu.

It could be said that it plays a bit with Parallel Universes but in a much more fanciful way, leaving aside any scientific technicality in favor of a story accessible to any public.

Ni No Kuni is a good contemporary Japanese animation, it may not be in the top of the best but it does win a good position on my list for fulfilling its mission and for creating positive emotions in us thanks to a beautiful story.

La animación es bastante limpia y la banda sonora en ciertos momentos de acción logra adentrarnos aún más en la historia haciendo que esta se vuelva épica y gloriosa pese al simple contenido. No digo que sea una mala historia, es simple pero bastante entretenida, pero lo que más me gusto es el hecho de exaltar la amistad encima de cualquier cosa y especialmente los valores del chico llamado Yu.

Podría decirse que se juega un poco con Universos paralelos pero de una manera mucho más fantasiosa dejando a un lado cualquier tecnicismo científico en pro de una historia accesible a cualquier público.

Ni No Kuni es una buena animación japonesa contemporánea, quizás no esté en el top de las mejores pero sí que si gana un buen puesto en mi lista por cumplir con su cometido y por crear emociones positivas en nosotros gracias a una hermosa historia.
