Hello to all otaku community, I hope you are doing great today... today I want to bring you a new review, this time I will talk about the anime: Haven't You Heard? I'm Sakamoto or also known as Sakamoto desu ga. Actually, I didn't expect much from this series when I started it, I watched it some years ago, and I still remember it perfectly... I thought it would be one of those typical overrated anime, with a guy with one joke that gets exhausted fast by the third episode, but wow, I was so wrong. This anime is really ridiculous, in the best possible way.. it can also be extremely touching, but I feel like in a way it's weird, but at the same time worth watching..

First things first, let's talk about the main character, Sakamoto, he is the definition of perfection.. he is smart, athletic, stylish, and can turn the most mundane situation into an action movie scene, or a super emotional scene.. you would think this would become very annoying, right? How many times can you see someone perfectly dodge a chalkboard eraser, or look perfect in absolutely everything they do? You might think it's boring to a certain extent, but somehow you don't get bored watching this anime... the narrative relies so heavily on absurdity, that it becomes a kind of unique comedy. It's like you know you have no understanding of what you're watching, but the charisma of the main character himself grabs you.. one of the things that surprised me was how much hidden depth this anime can have, on the surface it may seem like a simple comedy about a guy who is too cool for school, but underneath all the ridiculous antics that constantly pop up, there is a certain genuine message about kindness and self-improvement.

Sakamoto isn't just cool because he's perfect, he's cool because he makes everyone around him better or brings out the best version of themselves, whether it's helping a fellow student who is bullied find his confidence again, or turning a group of delinquents into better people by getting them to just blow bubbles.... Sakamoto's perfection isn't just about showing off his perfect style or his great life, it's about uplifting others and supporting them to the point of making them the best versions of themselves while looking incredibly handsome and unkempt. Isn't that funny and beautiful?

Hola a todos comunidad otaku, espero que hoy estén súper bien.. el día de hoy quiero traerles una nueva reseña, esta vez les hablaré del anime: Haven't You Heard? I'm Sakamoto o también conocido como Sakamoto desu ga. Realmente, yo no esperaba mucho de esta serie al empezarla, La vi hace algunos años, y aún la recuerdo perfectamente.. pensé que sería uno de esos típicos animes sobrevalorados, con un chico con un solo chiste que se agota rápido al tercer episodio, pero vaya, estaba muy equivocado. Este anime es realmente ridículo, de la mejor manera posible.. también puede ser extremadamente conmovedor, pero siento que de cierta manera es extraño, pero a la vez vale la pena verlo..

Primero lo primero, hablemos del protagonista, Sakamoto, él es la definición de perfección.. es inteligente, atlético, con estilo, y puede convertir la situación más mundana en una escena de película de acción, o una escena súper emotiva.. pensarías que esto llegaría a ser muy molesto, ¿no? ¿Cuántas veces puedes ver a alguien esquivar perfectamente un borrador de pizarra, o lucir de manera perfecta en absolutamente todo lo que haga? Puedes pensar que es aburrido hasta cierta medida, pero de alguna manera no te aburres viendo este anime.. la narrativa se apoya tanto en lo absurdo, que se convierte en una especie de comedia única. Es como que sabes que no tienes entendido lo que estás viendo, pero el carisma del propio protagonista te atrapa.. una de las cosas que me sorprendieron fue cuánta profundidad oculta puede tener este anime, en la superficie puede parecer una simple comedia sobre un tipo que es demasiado genial para la escuela, pero debajo de todas las payasadas ridículas que aparecen constantemente, hay cierto mensaje genuino sobre la bondad y la superación personal.

Sakamoto no es solo genial porque es perfecto, es genial porque hace que todos a su alrededor sean mejores o saquen la mejor versión de sí mismos, ya sea ayudando a un compañero que es intimidado a encontrar de nuevo su confianza, o convirtiendo a un grupo de delincuentes en unas mejores personas haciendo que se dediquen a solo soplar burbujas.. La perfección de Sakamoto no se trata solo de presumir su perfecto estilo o su gran vida, se trata de elevar a los demás y apoyarlos al punto de convertirlos en las mejores versiones de ellos mientras luce increíblemente guapo y sin despeinarse. ¿No es eso acaso gracioso y hermoso?

Sakamoto is the kind of protagonist that many of you will be able to get attached to, as he always tries to help those people in need, but instead of stepping in as a generic hero, Sakamoto encourages all those people to always try to find the answers.... He doesn't give them easy solutions, he empowers them to the point that they themselves try to cope with their problems on their own, giving unique advice... it's very interesting to see how much hard work it can be to be there for someone, one of the things that makes this character so great is that he can send such simple yet powerful messages... and that sometimes the best way to help someone is just to show them that they can help themselves.

And well, then there's the humor.. this anime can make you laugh out loud on many occasions, I had a pretty good time, there are some really good jokes, and it's not just the over the top situations, but also the way the story itself plays with your expectations and your perspectives.... You think you know where the scene or the story is going to go and suddenly wham! Sakamoto pulls out an unusual and super unexpected move that leaves you shocked and dead laughing, there are many situations where this character does such inexplicable and nonsensical things that it's inevitable to laugh.. as this anime takes itself very seriously, which makes everything much more dramatic and exaggerated.

Sakamoto es el tipo de protagonista con el cual muchos de ustedes podrán encariñarse, ya que siempre trata de ayudar a aquellas personas que lo necesitan, pero en lugar de intervenir como un héroe genérico, Sakamoto anima a todas esas personas a intentar siempre hallar las respuestas.. No les brinda soluciones fáciles, sino que los empodera al punto de que ellos mismos traten de sobrellevar sus problemas por sí solos, brindando consejos únicos.. es muy interesante ver todo el trabajo duro que puede ser el estar ahí para alguien, una de las cosas que hace a este personaje tan genial es que puede mandar mensajes tan simples pero a la vez poderosos.. y es que a veces la mejor manera de ayudar a alguien es solo mostrarle que puede ayudarse a sí mismo.

Y bueno, luego está el humor.. este anime puede hacerte reír a carcajadas en muchas ocasiones, yo me lo pasé bastante bien, hay chistes muy buenos, y no se trata solo de las situaciones exageradas, sino que también la forma en la que la propia historia juega con tus expectativas y tus perspectivas.. Crees que sabes hacia dónde va a ir la escena o la historia y de repente ¡pum! Sakamoto saca un movimiento insólito y súper inesperado que te deja impresionado y muerto de risa, hay muchas situaciones en las que este personaje hace cosas tan inexplicables y sin sentido que es inevitable reírte.. ya que este anime se toma a sí mismo muy en serio, lo que hace que todo sea mucho más dramático y exagerado.

But Sakamoto is not the only star in this anime, the supporting cast is surprisingly well developed for a comedy anime. At first they seem like typical high school stereotypes, the bullies, the popular girls, the nerds, but as the episodes progress you see different sides of all of them, for example we meet Atsushi, one of the delinquents.. who starts out as that tough, intimidating guy, but in the end ends up becoming a pretty... lovable character? Seeing that transformation from thug, to one of Sakamoto's biggest fans was honestly one of the highlights of the whole story, at least for me. Now, I admit that the humor may not be for everyone, if you don't like absurd comedy as much as I do, and you're not as familiar to over-the-top situations, this anime may just not be your thing.

And yes, some jokes can feel a bit repetitive if you watch several episodes in a row, but for me the self-awareness of the anime itself makes it different and very fresh... you know it's ridiculous and the narrative knows this, it simply uses it to prop itself up and keep going. Also, the episodes are so short that even if a joke doesn't work, it's over before you know it... Talking a bit about the animation, I consider that the DEEN studio that worked on this anime did a pretty decent job, the art style is clean and simple, which works perfectly with the typical tone of this anime. The way they animate Sakamoto's cool moments is the best of the best... all those flashes, dramatic angles, the slow motion shots, everything is so exaggerated and I loved every second of it... it's pretty typical animation, but not sloppy and I liked that.

Pero Sakamoto no es la única estrella en este anime, el elenco de apoyo está sorprendentemente bien desarrollado para ser un anime de comedia. Al principio parecen los típicos estereotipos de secundaria, los matones, las chicas populares, los nerds, pero a medida que avanzan los episodios ves diferentes lados de todos ellos, por ejemplo conoceremos a Atsushi, uno de los delincuentes.. que comienza como ese tipo rudo e intimidante, pero al final termina convirtiéndose en un personaje bastante.. ¿adorable? Ver esa transformación de matón, a uno de los mayores admiradores de Sakamoto fue honestamente uno de los puntos más destacados de toda la historia, al menos para mí. Ahora, admito que el humor puede no ser para todos, si no te gusta la comedia absurda tanto como a mí, y no estás tan familiarizado a las situaciones exageradas, puede ser que este anime simplemente no sea lo tuyo.

Y sí, algunos chistes pueden sentirse un poco repetidos si ves varios episodios seguidos, pero para mí la autoconciencia del mismo anime lo hace ser diferente y muy fresco.. sabes que es ridículo y la narrativa sabe esto, lo usa simplemente para apoyarse y continuar. Además, los episodios son cortos que incluso si un chiste no funciona, termina antes de que te des cuenta.. Hablando un poco de la animación, considero que el estudio DEEN que trabajó en este anime hizo un trabajo bastante decente, el estilo de arte es limpio y simple, lo que funciona perfectamente con el tono típico de este anime. La forma en la que animan los momentos geniales de Sakamoto es lo mejor de lo mejor.. todos aquellos destellos, ángulos dramáticos, las tomas de cámara lenta, todo es tan exagerado y amé cada segundo.. es una animación bastante típica, pero no descuidada y eso me gustó.

And obviously I couldn't avoid talking about the Opening of this anime... it's a complete gem, catchy, energetic, and sets the perfect tone to get you ready for all the chaos to come, it's one of those songs that if you listen to more than 3 times right away, you'll want to include it in your playlist like I did. By the time I got to the final episode, I was completely sucked into this whole wave of ridiculousness and emotionality, without giving too much away, the ending managed to be both funny and surprisingly emotional. There's a sense of closure that ties everything together, and for me personally it left me with a smile from ear to ear... it's rare that a comedy anime tries to deeply connect with you, and obviously it's even rarer that it manages to have such a satisfying ending that feels like true closure to everything, but hey, this anime pulls it off. I seriously recommend it... it's not the eighth wonder of the world, but it can be both funny and thoughtful, and most of all, it feels different.

If you're looking for something light and entertaining to brighten up your day, have a few laughs, well here's the brilliant Sakamoto to show you how cool you have to be in life...I give it an 8/10 rating. It's a wild and funny trip, that just remembering it makes me laugh... hopefully at some point we can see a continuation, because I would really like to see these characters again... but well, let me know your opinion. Y obviamente no podía evitar hablar del Opening de este anime.. es una completa joya, pegajoso, enérgico, y establece el tono perfecto para que te prepares para todo el caos que está por venir, es de esas canciones que si escuchas más de 3 veces enseguida, vas a querer incluirla en tu playlist como yo lo hice. Cuando yo llegué al episodio final, estaba completamente absorbido por toda esta ola de ridiculez y emotividad, sin revelar demasiado, el final logró ser tanto gracioso como sorprendentemente emotivo. Hay un sentido de cierre que ata a todo, y a mí personalmente me dejó con una sonrisa de oreja a oreja.. es raro que un anime de comedia intente conectar profundamente contigo, y obviamente es aún más raro que logre tener un final tan satisfactorio que sienta como un verdadero cierre a todo, pero bueno, este anime lo logra. Yo en serio lo recomiendo.. no es la octava maravilla del mundo, pero puede ser graciosa y a la vez reflexivo, y sobre todo, se siente diferente.

Si buscas algo ligero y entretenido para alegrar tu día, reírte un poco, pues aquí está el genial Sakamoto para mostrarte cómo se tiene que ser de genial en la vida.. yo le doy una calificación de 8/10. Es un viaje salvaje y divertido, que de solo recordarlo me hace reír.. ojalá en algún punto podamos ver una continuación, ya que en verdad me gustaría volver a ver a estos personajes.. pero bueno, déjenme saber su opinión. ¿Conocían este anime? ¿Lo han visto?
