Tokyo Ghoul: an Anime Ruined by it's Studio

Tokyo Ghoul is one of the animes that everyone knows. It is especially important to me because it served as a gateway for me to further indulge myself in lesser-known animes. I remember watching Tokyo Ghoul and getting emotionally attached to every character, even the villains, and that is what makes Tokyo Ghoul great, the characters are well-made and are relatable despite some of them not being humans. Season 1 is one of the most emotionally driving animes I've watched, of course I know that there are better shows, it is very special because it is one of the first ones I know. But starting Tokyo Ghoul root A, it got ruined by the own studio that did so well in the first season.

To summarize, the anime was killed by the non-canon plot in S2, the terrible animation in Re, and the frantic pace throughout. And the studio tries to hide its flaws by claiming that their TG adaptation was never intended to be an anime, but rather a promotion for the original manga. The original manga was a lot better than the anime of course, but it is very disappointing that the anime ruined something that is very special to me.

Tokyo Ghoul is still a special anime for me, but if you want to watch Tokyo Ghoul, I really recommend the manga over the anime.
