Tadaima , Okaeri [ ENG/ESP]

Hello everyone. Among all the anime I enjoy or that give me the satisfaction of a good plot, there's one that really caught my attention. In fact, you could say it's not old, but recent, since it touches on a theme that, although simple and superficial, managed to capture the attention and affection of those who watched it, regardless of its characteristics, genre, or approach. And well, since I recently rewatched some episodes, today I'm bringing you my opinion on "Tadaima, Okaeri."

Entre todos esos animes que me llegan a gustar o causan esa satisfacción de que es una buena trama, hay uno que me llamó mucho la atención y que, de hecho, se podría decir que no es de antaño, sino reciente, ya que toca un tema que, aunque de manera simple y superficial, logró captar la atención y el cariño de aquellos que lo vieran, sin tener en cuenta la característica, género o el enfoque que toma. Y bueno, aprovechando que recientemente volví a ver algunos capítulos, hoy les traigo mi opinión sobre "Tadaima, Okaeri".

A work created by Ichi Ichikawa, which began publication in 2015 and continues in weekly installments in the anthology magazine Omegaverse Project, illustrated by Fusion Product, was later adapted into an anime in 2024 by Studio Deen and directed by Shinji Ishihira, totaling 12 episodes. It depicts the family life of Masaki and Hiromu, an omegaverse couple who face daily life in a closed and happy environment, but who outside of it face social and familial criticism, not because of their gender, but because of the rules that govern the omegaverse world they inhabit; however, they always manage to overcome everything.

Una obra creada por Ichi Ichikawa que comenzó a publicarse en el 2015 y sigue en emisión en entregas semanales por la revista antología Omegaverse Project e ilustrada por Fusion Product, pasando luego a la adaptación a anime en el año 2024 por Studio Deen y dirigida por Shinji Ishihira, teniendo un total de 12 episodios. Se nos muestra la vida familiar de Masaki y Hiromu, una pareja omegaverse que enfrenta el día a día en un entorno cerrado y feliz, pero que fuera de este enfrenta críticas sociales y familiares, no por su género, sino por las normas que rigen el mundo omegaverse en el que están; sin embargo, logran siempre solventar todo.

Initially, this anime caused a stir due to its yaoi and omegaverse nature, as it touches on two topics that are still considered somewhat taboo within the otaku and anime community. The fact that it depicted a family where a male gender could be divided into alphas or omegas and experience stages of heat and procreation was something that, while already familiar to a group that consumed this genre, wasn't expected to be seen by a general, mass audience that typically consumes a different type of content.

En un inicio, este anime causó revuelo al ser género yaoi y omegaverse, ya que suele tocar dos puntos que aún hasta la fecha se siguen considerando un poco taboo dentro de la comunidad otaku y anime. El hecho de que se presentara una familia donde un género masculino se podía dividir en alfas u omegas y podían pasar por etapas de celo y procreación era algo que, aunque ya era conocido por parte de un grupo que consumía esto, no era algo que esperaran ver aún dirigido a un público general y masivo que suele consumir un tipo distinto.

Even so, the fact that they approached it in a familiar and harmonious way, as well as softening some aspects while still presenting the barriers that are common in this type of story, managed, against all odds, to gain considerable acceptance. This is because they didn't try to force the inclusion of any stereotypes and instead focused on family dynamics, the resolution of family problems that are even commonplace in real life, and the importance of cognitive development in children within healthy and supportive environments. Indeed, the series features two young children, Hikari and Hinata, the children of our protagonists, who have to grow up in a different environment.

Aun así, el hecho de que lo abordaran de una forma familiar y armoniosa, así como una suavización de algunos aspectos, sin dejar de lado presentar las barreras que se suelen tener en este tipo de trama, logró, contra todo pronóstico, ganarse una buena aceptación. Ya que no se buscó una inclusión forzada de algún estereotipo y se enfocó más en lo que es una construcción familiar, así como la resolución de problemas familiares que incluso llegan a ser cotidianos en la vida real, así como la importancia del desarrollo cognitivo en los niños con ambientes saludables y correctos, porque sí, en esta se nos muestra unos pequeños, los cuales son Hikari y Hinata, siendo estos los hijos de nuestros protagonistas y quienes tienen que crecer en un entorno distinto.

And it is precisely these two little ones, especially Hikaro, who, like the Gakuen Babysitters anime I mentioned in previous posts, managed to win genuine affection from the audience, to the point that they set aside any potentially taboo topics to appreciate his growth and how he is raised in a healthy way by his parents, as well as seeing Masalki's emotional development due to his insecurities and how he handles this so as not to create burdens or destabilize his family life, showing a maturity with which many of us could identify.

Y son justamente estos dos pequeños, sobre todo Hikaro, quienes, al igual que el anime de Gakuen Babysitters del que hablé en posts anteriores, lograron ganarse un cariño genuino con la audiencia, al punto de que esta dejó de lado todo tema que pudiera ser tabú para apreciar el crecimiento que este tiene y cómo es instruido de forma saludable por sus padres, así como ver el desarrollo emocional por el que pasa Masalki debido a sus inseguridades y cómo maneja esto para no generar cargas ni desestabilizar su vida familiar, mostrando una madurez con la que muchos pudiéramos llegar a sentirnos identificados.

Even so, it manages to generate tenderness and fun through the way the situations unfold, as well as the lives of the other characters who appear as the episodes progress. This anime itself, with its approach to everyday life without exaggeration or trying too hard to please, is what made it something I can enjoy and recommend without hesitation. You don't need to be familiar with any particular anime genre to laugh or enjoy it, since I feel that one of its strengths is precisely that it doesn't fit into any one category. So, well, this is my brief opinion regarding this lovely anime.

Aun así, logra generar ternura y diversión con el cómo se van presentando las situaciones, así como la vida de los demás personajes que van apareciendo a medida que avanzan los capítulos. Este anime en sí, con esta forma de abordar lo que es la vida cotidiana sin exagerar o buscar agradar a propósito, es lo que hizo que se convirtiera para mí en algo que puedo disfrutar y recomendar sin problema. No necesitas ser conocedor de algún género de anime para poder reír o ver tranquilamente, ya que siento que un punto a favor que tiene es justamente el que no se encasilla, así que bueno, esta es mi pequeña opinión con respecto a este lindo anime.
