A complete nerd and his cute childhood friend head to a convention center to watch a speech about the impossibility of time travel, after his friend gets some sweet gachapon, he hears a scream, he goes to check it out and there he sees it.

The dead body of one Makise Kurisu.

Makise Kurisu is a genius young scientist featured in many magazines, so he knows who she is.

He quickly flees the scene with his childhood friend, he quickfires some messages about it to his best friend Daru and then... Everything goes quiet, everyone is gone - the streets of the bustling Akihabara are empty.

He then snaps back to reality, and on the following day, somehow, an impossibility as impossible as time travel happens: he sees Makise Kurisu alive and well.

This is the beginning of the masterpiece that is the visual novel/anime/manga Steins;Gate.

A masterpiece so full of emotion, of intrigue, of humor and of mystery.

This post is a tribute piece more than anything else. I absolutely adore this piece of art, and I'm here highly suggesting everyone to watch it. It has everything that makes a story great: cute girls, an incredible plot and a time travel plotline that somehow makes sense, not to mention a prequel in the form of Steins;Gate 0 that only adds to how insanely good this franchise is.

There are of course other works based on Steins;Gate, some spin off works and they're really good too, even a dating sim and even that is really well made!

But basically, if you want something where every character is well made, everyone has something to do with the plot, and that can get you to tear up whilst watching, playing or reading, give Steins;Gate a shot. You won't regret it.

I took all the photos from the mangas I own in Brazilian Portuguese. I bought these at around the same time I first watched the show and played the visual novel, that's how in love I was with Steins;Gate.
I was lucky though, it only cost me around $15 USD with shipping included and these 3 volumes contain the entire story of the first Steins;Gate.

I don't recommend reading the manga as your first experience though, as Yomi Sarachi herself says, the manga rushes the story quite a bit. Definitely watch the anime first if you want something that'll guide you through the story, then play the VN if you want to get other endings and then read the manga if you want to see how cute the illustration is in there.
