I'm back here with another Anime review and this time it's about GUNGRAVE.
As always each of us have in our trunk treasures that sometimes we dust off and this for me is one of my favorites.
About 10 years ago it was recommended to me by a close friend between stories and table comments, many anime were in fashion at that time and I honestly did not pay much attention to this one, but, even so, for being a recommendation from someone who knows more than me on this subject I kept it in my memory.
After some time and looking for a good story to devour to entertain me, I remembered the name when I saw it written in a huge list of recommended books.
I admit that I was not impressed at the beginning. I had to wait several minutes for other characters to appear and at that point it really started.
I don't regret ''Play'' chapter 1 (Twilight Destroyer) haha.

Vuelvo por aquí con otra reseña sobre Anime y en esta ocasión es sobre GUNGRAVE.
Como siempre cada uno de nosotros tenemos en nuestro baúl tesoros que en ocasiones desempolvamos y este para mi es uno de mis favoritos.
Hace 10 años aproximadamente me fue recomendada por un amigo cercano entre relatos y comentarios de mesa, muchos animes estaban de moda en ese momento y a este sinceramente no lo presté mayor atención, pero, aun así, por ser una recomendación de alguien que sabe más que yo de este tema lo guardé en la memoria.
Pasado un tiempo y buscando que buena historia devorar para entretenerme recordé el nombre al verlo escrito en una enorme lista de recomendados.
Admito que no me causo buena impresión el comienzo. Tuve que esperar varios minutos que aparecieran otros personajes y en ese punto comenzó realmente.
No me arrepiento de dar ´´Play´´ al capítulo 1 (Destructor de crepúsculo) jaja.
A work done by Yasuhiro Nightow who initially created this story for a video game and was published in anime form in 2003, produced by the house -Madhouse-, also known for being later the producer of the re-release of -Hunter X Hunter-.
It is an anime that is not based on a Manga, which is the most regular thing, however, this does not detract from the quality of the work.
It takes much of the style of western productions such as ''The Godfather'' or ''Goodfellas'' in that the story takes place in an environment of mafias, syndicates and criminal organizations.
Un trabajo realizado por Yasuhiro Nightow quien inicialmente creo esta historia para un videojuego y fue publicado en forma de anime en el 2003, producida por la casa -Madhouse-, también conocida por ser posteriormente la productora de la reedición de -Hunter X Hunter.
Es un anime que no tiene como base un Manga que es lo más regular, sin embargo, esto no le resta calidad a la obra.
Toma mucho del estilo de producciones occidentales como ´´El padrino´´ o ´´Buenos muchachos´´ en cuanto que la historia se desarrolla en un ambiente de mafias, sindicatos y organizaciones criminales.
It consists of 28 chapters and is based on two main characters around which the whole plot unfolds: Harry Mcdowel and Branbon Heat. There is also Maria, a character that complements the story and gives it greater complexity.
Consta de 28 capítulos y se basa en dos personajes principales alrededor de los cuales se desenvuelve toda la trama: Harry Mcdowel y Branbon Heat. También está María, un personaje que complementa la historia y le da mayor complejidad.
The plot is simple: Two boys who meet in an orphanage, grow up in poverty and develop in that environment practically all their lives. Marked by witnessing so many bloody events and hardships since they were innocent children, their companionship grows with them and they form a very strong emotional bond for each other, a brotherhood, also in them grows and develops the ambition, the feeling and later decision to make a name for themselves, to be respected and to be at the top.
El argumento es simple: Dos chicos que se conocen en un orfanato, crecen en la pobreza y se desarrollan en ese ambiente prácticamente toda su vida. Marcados por presenciar tantos acontecimientos sangrientos y penurias desde que eran niños inocentes, crece con ellos su compañerismo y forman un lazo emocional muy fuerte el uno por el otro, una hermandad, también en ellos crece y se desarrolla la ambición, el sentimiento y posterior decisión de crear un nombre, ser espetados y estar en la cima.
In this series we can see the growth and evolution of each of the characters, their stage of adolescence, youth, maturity and old age, because from beginning to end of the story decades pass for them and each one lives different experiences and go their separate ways (although close), but they never lost the ambition to be at the top of power and polished their strategies and skills in the world of the mafia with completely different roles.
En esta serie podemos ver el crecimiento y evolución de cada una de los personajes, su etapa de adolescencia, juventud, madurez y vejez, pues desde comienzo a fin de la historia pasan décadas para ellos y cada cual vive experiencias diferentes y van por caminos (aunque cercanos) separados, mas, nunca perdieron la ambición de estar en la cima del poder y pulieron sus estrategias y habilidades en el mundo de la mafia con roles completamente diferentes.
This is one of those stories that is better to watch without having much idea of what is there, that you allow it to surprise you. Believe me when I say that it has intense moments that will leave you at least moved and that you will remember for a long time, of those moments that mark you, if you focus on watching it calmly, you get into this story and you can empathize with the characters because they represent intrinsic qualities and defects of human beings and you can easily get to identify with their personalities.
There is also the theme of ''Necro-rise'': the genetic manipulation of living organisms to enhance physical capabilities, which gives even more complement and helps the plot develop for so long for its characters.
Esta es de esas historias que es mejor ver sin tener mucha idea de lo que hay allí, que permitas que te sorprenda. Créanme cuando digo que tiene momentos intensos que te dejaran al menos conmovido o conmovida y que recordaras por mucho tiempo, de esos momentos que te marcan, si te centras en verla con calma, te internas en esta historia y logras empatizar con los personajes pues representan cualidades y defectos intrínseco del ser humano y fácilmente puedes llegar a identificarte en mucho con sus personalidades.
También está el tema del ´´Necro-rise´´: la manipulación genética de organismos vivos para mejorar capacidades físicas, lo cual da aún más complemento y ayuda a que la trama se desarrolle por tanto tiempo para sus personajes.
Of these characters I couldn't say I have a favorite:
Harry Mcdowel: A cold, intelligent, charismatic and cunning boy, enough to grow quickly into a man both respected and feared from his youth.
Brandon Heat: A quiet and shy boy, but with more skill and physical strength than his partner, no less cunning than him, however, not as charismatic, with a very strong sense of solidarity and honor.
Both make the perfect duo from different places and functions, achieving a great reputation and admiration from mafia families to the point of being named members of one of these families at a very young age and career.
Family led by ''Big Dady'', head of a powerful syndicate with iron laws.
I can say that it is a very precious anime. Both for the quality of the plot and for the variety of characters and situations that in it we see develop until the final moment.
Each chapter is rich in detail and the characters are constantly changing their appearance.
The details in their features denote the passage of time and without you realizing it you feel you know them.
De estos personajes no podría decir que tengo un favorito:
Harry Mcdowel: Un chico frio, inteligente, carismático y astuto, lo suficiente como para crecer rápidamente siendo un hombre tan respetado como temido desde su juventud.
Brandon Heat: Un chico callado y tímido, pero con mayor habilidad y fuerza física que su compañero, no menos astuto que él, sin embargo, no tan carismático, con un sentido de la solidaridad y honor muy fuerte.
Ambos hacen la dupla perfecta desde lugares y funciones diferentes, logrando una gran reputación y admiración por parte de familias de la mafia al punto de llegar a ser nombrados miembros de una de estas familias a muy corta edad y carrera.
Familia liderada por ´´Big Dady´´, jefe de un poderoso sindicato con leyes de hierro.
Puedo decir que es un anime muy preciado. Tanto por la calidad del argumento como por la variedad de personajes y situaciones que en ella vemos desarrollarse hasta el momento final.
Cada capítulo es rico en detalles y constantemente los personajes están cambiando de apariencia.
Los detalles en sus facciones denotan el paso del tiempo y sin que te des cuenta sientes que los conoces.
I hope for all of you who are about to watch it that you enjoy it as much as I did.
