Hello guys, I’ve always heard people who know nothing about the world of anime use a phrase that, in a way, annoys me: "an animation for kids can't have good stories," or similar ones. What I’m about to tell you isn’t something that happened recently; I remembered it while watching the anime I’m here to talk about. And just like this one, there are many others that leave your mind spinning.

The anime Kokoro Connect was recommended to me by a website. Since I’d seen some of the other recommendations and knew they had that style of deep storytelling, I thought, let’s give it a shot. As in many other cases, I didn’t have high expectations, but... it’s not for nothing that they recommended it alongside anime that have made more than one person shed a tear.

I hope not to spoil too much...

The story follows the lives of five high school students (three girls and two boys) at a school where being part of a club is mandatory. They create the Cultural Research Club because none of them wanted the heavy responsibilities imposed by other clubs.

This group of friends begins experiencing a problem—or many problems—throughout the series. One of the most striking is that they start switching bodies randomly among themselves. Each of them begins to externalize their personal struggles, causing divisions among them due to fear of what others might think or do with their bodies.

This strange phenomenon only happens to the five of them. However, since they didn’t know when these switches would occur, they feared their families or close acquaintances would find out, making everything worse. The reason why this happened only to them? I’ll just say it was for fun...

With all that said, I must mention this anime has its ups and downs. There are serious moments, as well as random ones where you’re left thinking, “WTF is up with these guys?” 😂 There isn’t a single bad episode; each one has its own charm and depth.

This anime was produced by Silver Link studio, known for their work on series like Non Non Biyori (which I know thanks to my friends). It aired in July 2012 and consists of 17 episodes in total (13 episodes and 4 OVAs).

I’m combining these sections because it’s a relatively old anime, about 12 or 13 years old. I personally enjoyed the animation. Compared to what we see today, I’d say it has aged well, which speaks to its high-quality animation at the time.

Since this anime isn’t focused on music, I don’t have much to say here. Most anime fulfill this aspect anyway, and as I usually skip openings and endings, I can’t comment much on them either.

This anime combines elements of drama, comedy, and romance, offering a captivating narrative that leaves no one indifferent. It’s much more than just a series of unusual situations; it’s a work that deeply explores the emotional and psychological challenges of life. Through the protagonists’ experiences, we’re led to question the importance of friendship, empathy, and resilience when facing problems that seem extremely complicated or even impossible to overcome.

The bond between Taichi, Iori, Inaba, Aoki, and Yui teaches us that, although difficulties may expose our deepest vulnerabilities, they’re also an opportunity to strengthen human connections and find support in others. Letting go of our pride to see the other side of the coin is easy to say but hard to do. However, there’s always someone we can trust.

The series emphasizes that we all carry invisible burdens, but they become lighter when we share them. It shows us that being honest about our emotions, accepting our flaws, and learning to trust others not only makes us stronger but also allows us to grow as individuals.

Kokoro Connect delivers a clear message: the bonds we build with those around us are essential for weathering life’s storms. In mutual acceptance, we find a safe haven where we can heal and move forward.

Thus, this work serves as a reminder that, even in the darkest moments, there’s always a way to move forward—if we have the courage to look within ourselves and reach out to those around us.

Hola chicos, siempre he escuchado de las personas que no conocen nada del mundo del anime, usan una frase que de cierta forma me molesta "de una animación infantil no puede tener buenas historias" o inclusos muchas otras similares. Lo que les cuento no es algo que me paso reciente, sino que lo recordé mientras veía el anime del cual les vengo a hablar, y así como este, hay una gran cantidad que te dejan con la mente dando vueltas.

El anime Kokoro Connect, lo conseguí por recomendación de una página web y como entre los que estaba recomendando los había visto y sé que tienen ese estilo de historia profunda, pensé vamos a verlos. Así como en muchas otras ocasiones, no tenía tantas expectativas, pero... no por nada lo recomendaban con animes que a más de 1 han hecho lagrimear.

Espero no hacer espóiler...

La historia narra la vida de 5 chicos de preparatoria (3 chicas y 2 chicos), que en el colegio donde están les es obligatorio estar en uno en un club. Ellos crean el de Cultura de la sociedad, ya que los que cada uno de los integrantes, de una u otra forma, no quería tener grandes tareas que les iban a imponer en otros clubes.

Este grupo de amigos, comienzan a tener un problema o muchos problemas a lo largo de toda la serie. Uno de los más resaltantes, es que comienzan a cambiar de cuerpo de forma aleatoria entre ellos. Cada uno comenzó a exteriorizar sus problemas, teniendo divisiones entre ellos, por miedo a lo que los demás pensarían o harían con sus cuerpos

Este extraño fenómeno solo se daba entre ellos 5, no obstante, como los cambios que tenían no sabían cuando iban a pasar, tenían miedo de que sus familiares o personas cercanas se dieran cuenta y todo fuera aún peor. El motivo de por el cual solo a ellos les ocurría esto, solo dire que fue por diversión...

Con todo lo dicho, debo de decir que este anime tiene sus altos y bajos, donde tenemos momentos serios, como también tenemos ratos muy aleatorios donde podemos quedar "WTF qué onda con estos chicos" jajajaja. No hay ningún capítulo que sea malo, cada uno tiene su chispa y profundidad.

Este anime fue producido por el estudio Silver Link, conocido por su trabajo en series como Non Non Biyori (que lo conozco por mis amigos). se emitió en julio de 2012 y consta de 17 episodios en total (13 capítulos y 4 OVAs).

Uni estos apartados, ya que es un anime bástente viejo, contando con unos 12 o 13 años aproximadamente. La animación a mí me gusto, pero claro, a comparación de lo que podemos ver ahora, a mi criterio, ha envejecido bien y eso habla de que en su tiempo tuvo muy buena animación.

Como este anime no es musical, no tengo mucho que decir, ya que en este apartado siempre cumplen la mayoría y como no me gusta ver o escuchar en la mayoría de veces los opening o ending, tampoco puedo hablar de ellos.

Este anime combina elementos de drama, comedia y romance, ofreciendo una narrativa cautivadora que no deja a nadie indiferente. Es mucho más que una serie de situaciones fuera de lo común; es una obra que explora con profundidad los desafíos emocionales y psicológicos de la vida. A través de la experiencia de sus protagonistas, se nos lleva a cuestionar la importancia de la amistad, la empatía y la resiliencia al enfrentar problemas que parecen muy complicados o incluso imposibles de superar.

La conexión entre Taichi, Iori, Inaba, Aoki y Yui nos enseña que, aunque las dificultades puedan exponer nuestras vulnerabilidades más profundas, también son una oportunidad para fortalecer los lazos humanos y encontrar apoyo en los demás. Dejando a un lado nuestro orgullo, para poder ver el otro lado de la moneda, esto en palabras es fácil decirlo, pero siempre va a haber alguien en la que podemos confiar.

La serie no habla que todos llevamos cargas invisibles, pero estas se hacen más ligeras cuando las compartimos. Nos enseña que ser honestos con nuestras emociones, aceptar nuestros defectos y aprender a confiar en los demás no solo nos hace más fuertes, sino que también nos permite crecer como personas.

Kokoro Connect deja un mensaje claro: los lazos que construimos con las personas a nuestro alrededor son esenciales para enfrentar las tormentas de la vida, y en la aceptación mutua encontramos un refugio donde sanar y avanzar.

Así, esta obra se convierte en un recordatorio de que, incluso en los momentos más oscuros, siempre hay una forma de seguir adelante si tenemos el coraje de mirar dentro de nosotros mismos y extender la mano hacia quienes nos rodean.
