Hello everyone, I hope you all are doing well and will keep doing so. This is my Day 1 of the anime blogging challenge i.e. First Anime you remember watching. Let's get started.

Well to remember the first anime I watched, had to do some memory exercises. It was tough because there were so many and I was nearly 4-5 years old when I first watched an anime way back in 2003-2004. And if I remember correctly then it was Dragon Ball Z(DBZ).

My favorite arc from the show is still the whole Frieza menace. I think Frieza is still the best villain of DBZ and one of the best villains of anime history. My favorite characters were Goku, Vegeta, Master Roshi, and Bulma.

And the show stands out because of Vegeta. The way they introduced Vegeta only to make him the perfect rival of all time, its just brilliant. A certain kind of humor that was associated with the show kind of made it more fun to watch. Not to mention the iconic scene of Goku transforming into Super Saiyan for the first time. There's a lot and I can keep going but let's talk about how it all started.

So, I'm from India, and anime shows have not taken a start here before 2004-2005. But before this, 2-3 channels were broadcasting some anime shows, one of them was Cartoon Network. This is where I watched my first episode of DBZ in Hindi(Indian regional language) and I don't remember what was the episode. But for sure the thing which attracted me to DBZ was action sequences and the rivalry between Goku and Vegeta.

At that time I had no idea what I was watching or that it has a prequel too, named Dragon Ball. But I continued to watch DBZ because I was enjoining it and man the background score, nor did I understand the score, but it gave me chills and still does. Repeating the dialogues with my school friends and even the action sequences while standing in a position and raising our voices like we are about to turn in Super Saiyan.

Then Cartoon Network decided to cancel the show only to rerun it some years later, that's when I completed it. But in between and after that, I watched several other shows such as Pokemon, Digimon, Detective Conan, Doraemon, Bayblade, Naruto, Inazuma Eleven, Bakugan, and many more.

I used to refer to them as cartoons, cause I was not aware of anime. But till 2011 I never realized that what I was watching for so many years is called anime and not a cartoon. Thanks to the social media boon and internet in 2012, I learned about Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball GT and watched the whole series along with movies.

When Dragon Ball Super started I didn't even have a clue but realized in 2017 and binge-watched it in 2018 just before the show was about to end. The storylines were good but the animation in the first half was pathetic only to be fixed later. And the last arc of the tournament was just epic. Goku Black's arc was also good because of the complexity of his character.

I have also watched Dragon Ball Super Heroes on youtube and it is also awesome and eagerly waiting for season 2 of DBS.

But DBZ stands out in the whole Dragon Ball franchise.

This is all for Day 1 and I'll try to complete this challenge, there's no hurry so it will take time, and yup see you all then.
