Good answer, I would too under most circumstances…although in the context of the song here, that would not be an option because she’s implicitly not there.
🎶 tell my wife I love her very much, she knooooows
Something as in Something in the way she moves? Indeed, Something is a Beatles original.
37 huh? Is 37 ten for you (and ten one), or do you choose special numbers in some other way?
I enjoy being weird about numbers!
I’m convinced that people who’s license plates start with KBT are somehow connected, that it’s the number that follows KBT that tells the details, and that KBT-5____ people are cool…I think it was five anyway…
I owe you a response elsewhere as well - it’s the one that I’m most excited to re-see. Work got in the way of Hive today. After work I’m taking my girls to the dentist and later I’ll be out losing the Star Search contest, but after that I’ll be back on platform.
Seriously? Man, I was 100% on that. Ima go listen again.
Meet Captain Thomas - he's a provider of clues.
Was he generated by AI? Yes. This is actually three separate AI generated images that I stitched together by hand - lol with a photo juxtaposer app.
You may have a hard time hearing him, because his circuit's dead and he's floating in a tin can...far above the world. - but don't worry, his wife knows how much he loves her.
OmG and whatever acronyms are more definitive than OmG. Touché! Something has never been on a Space Odyssey, everyone knows that.
I thought, if Cpt. Thom can't do it, ol' Danny boy might just not know the song...although that would surprise me quite a bit.
...then I listened to the video. It does have some real Something to it. Also, it's a very rough recording, I'm surprised I let myself get away with that, even with my proclivity for half-assing.
Can I tell you something? Don't get mad. (Has that ever worked for anyone? I mean, if the person was gonna get mad, like somehow being told not to ahead of time is going to change it? lol if anything it'd probably exacerbate it.) Why do I feel like I'm going to regret confessing this?
The last episode of NTT as of now was recorded and scheduled in 2022...scheduled to air in 2026. ...yeah.
I was getting ready to move a few states over and had a lot going on. Originally, I wanted to pre-record enough episodes to make sure I could move and get settled in without dropping the ball, but then I got a little carried away. So I recorded, edited and scheduled 4 years worth of contest videos before I moved down to NC...now they're just unfolding without any input from me, save for the engagement side.
After 'Scraps left, I was pretty much making these videos in a vacuum. There was like a year with almost no one playing...so I started getting a little crazy with the green screen art. All the stuff around the border of the green screen is somehow related to the song. Also, I'm actually a bit nervous for the future, because as I said I was pretty much all alone doing this for a while so the art gets pretty feral towards the end. Just remember, when that day comes, try not to hold it against me if you're able - I'm excited to pick up the torch in 2027 with renewed vigor and art that more reflects the growth and change I've seen over the last few years.
Did I understand you correctly, 4 years worth of recordings ahead of time? At 1/month?
I just went to your page to look, I didn't find the schedule but who designed all that Albus index, you? That's such a nice page.
Yeah that’s correct - may have been towards the end of ‘22, so closer to three years, but ultimately yes.
Schedule is under the music tab, but here’s a link to it :)
The index is all me. It was my twisted misuse of the system in order to create something that felt like a website but was solely hosted on Hive. I haven’t updated it in a while. I used to do it daily, but now I seem to do it just like 2-3 times per year. Pain in the ass honestly, but useful in super rare occasions when I want to reference an old post…honestly I don’t know how anyone else does it. I kind of hate keeping it alive but at this point I just refuse to let it die.
EDIT: looks like 2026 is blank…not sure how that happened, but after looking at the cover art for 2025, I’ll be happier to start 2026 with a clean slate. Hopefully I get the chance…I think I maybhave made the videos and scheduled them but didn’t save thumbnails.
Ok I have to bring you in on this, maybe you'll be able to shed some light on it.
I'm going through my replies as I like to do in the mornings, and I keep seeing this one:
...but when I click, it takes me here! I've noticed a few things on my profile also skewed; text from the bottom of one post showing up as the blurb for another, etc - but for some reason I find myself desperately clawing at the edges of internet to find the other half of this comment. I even went through your comments down through a couple days' worth just to see if it had been to someone else! ...do these words look familiar? If you commented this and I didn't respond, now I guess at least you know why. If it wasn't for me, well, I apologize for digging into your business!
Ah dude, don't trip, I got caught on emotional Highway and was... EXIT.
Ah shit. Here I am claiming to have scratched at the corners of the internet and I didn't even think about edit history. Shit man, that's a tough break - I can't even begin to imagine.
But the teeth thing?
Yeah, there's ol' Danny boy!
But wait, where's Albus!?
...oh, there he is...
Peekaboo!!!
I just listened again. All I can hear now is Something. This is a fun game / horrible idea behind the wheel, by the way. Looking forward to the correct song, see how far off I am cuz I swear if that ain't it, it's the same key, same tempo..
HAHAHA!!! I appreciate that you waited this long to point out what a bad idea this is, I haven't come to expect that kind of restraint. It's not an unpopular sentiment.
Remember how my mom's side of the family does the paraphrasing bit? I also grew up with a dad who kept (actually still keeps) a little red Lone Ranger lunch box filled with harmonicas in every key on his passenger seat. So I grew up in a world where jamming along with tunes and practicing techniques like bending notes while driving was basically, normal! ...and man, I've never felt so UN-original! It turns out I just took the cool or unique things my parents do quietly in their own time, and I made them into a bit 🤣
