Sometimes I happen across music that I think was just meant to come my way. This track is one of them.
I always look up the words to songs so that I can feel the song more, and this one resonated with me. I instantly wanted to hear more from this band after this line:
It kicks like a sleep twitch
I think it's the perfect description of how some things that we do/feel/say/regret can come flooding back to us at any moment and it hits us. Even though the lyrics may seem a bit dark, the song is quite upbeat which I like, kind of like the shades and hues of life that we experience, it's never just black or white and sometimes there are good and bad things at the same time. Of course each song may have different meanings for different people so you might interpret it entirely differently.
Throwback to the 90's! I can remember hearing this song for the first time on the radio. You know, when we still had those freaking aerials that would crackle and hiss and you'd have to swing it around to get better reception? Totally giving away my age here but whatever.
It was an instant get up and boogie kind of jam. The music video could do with less crotch-in-face and is absolutely ridiculous but I had a good laugh watching it again.
This last song also found its way into my playlist accidentally on purpose.
When I listen to it and close my eyes, I think of lying down under a tree's canopy, looking up at the sky through dappled shade and drinking lemonade. Reading a favourite book. Summer dresses, straw hats and walking through poppy fields.

Woah as soon as I read "It kicks like a sleep twitch" I knew what song you meant! 😂 It really is a great line! However, I was thinking of the Editors version. I enjoyed the Solar Fake version too, definitely the same spirit. And in both versions, that line... TOTALLY!
Your last song made me FEEEEEEEL a lot... Mostly bittersweet fluttery heart thingys. haha! I love how the ideas it conjures for you are totally different though. Thinking of you in a straw hat in a field of poppies makes my heart warm, what a cool feeling to have a song evoke! 💚
Thanks for the jams Emma! 🌸
Grindan!!! 💚
How are you bud? Thanks for the lovely comment. I did not know that Editors did a version but I am so glad that you linked it, I like that version as well, it's great! That one is now in my playlist as well thanks to you.
Hahaha, that third song is quite amazing at pulling on the heart strings.
Always a pleasure, will be going through the TTT tag shortly to see what else I find there 😁
EMMA, I am STILL crying from that song!
lololol Just kidding 🤣, I'm doing good! Glad it's finally warm here, think it is jumpstarting my brain a bit! 🙌
AHHHH! I'm so happy I got to be part of adding to the playlist, 😍 that makes me smile!
I hope you are doing good too? For some reason I can picture you being the sort of lady who forages for mushrooms as it cools down— is that accurate? hehe 🤗
Lol, please don't cry. Then I'll cry.
I'm not crying, you're crying Hahahah 🤣
I'm always good, just keepin' on keepin' on, you know?
Lol, I would like to go mushroom hunting, haven't been for years, but maybe I must make a day to do just that. In my straw hat 😊
I add songs from many people and glad that we share that in common, music is a universal staple in life me thinks 🎼
Yep sometimes the music finds you, rather than the other way around, which is always good. These were an enjoyable trio of tunes, it's a while since I heard Discotheque, it is so un-U2, but is a good auld song in fairness. I really enjoyed the last song here too, Delaney Bailey stole the show for me, such a beautiful song and so well delivered, I love it.

It's funny how I had two Emmas in my life today, and how they both moved away from me. There wasn't another Emma in my life till today haha. And what you wrote about the things that come flooding back is very associated to what happened with the first Emma... Curious synchronicities, trying to figure out what's going on 🤔
Hey Fen
You are very observant. I often cull my follow list to see if anyone ever even notices. You did, probably the first person ever.
I'm so sorry to hear about your other Emma, what happened?
Are you active in the Peakd chat? It's a bit more private, but I can tell you there :)
J's Lullaby though... ❤️
