Hi guys I am Inotia King a youtuber, redditor and gamer who likes theorizing about the story. I actually cobbled together a list of some of my more important theories with respect to the game Genshin Impact and Star Rail that I have been basing all of my newer theories on. I'll be putting more of those up on Hive along with new stuff but if you're impatient I also archived all my theories here. I hope some of you guys are game theorists too. Let's try to figure out these great games together!
What is this now the third or fourth time we've come across a World Quest plot where the antagonist wants to turn everybody into consciousness goo? Deshret wanted to store everybody in his Golden Slumber, losing their individuality and becoming a collection of consciousness data. Remus wanted to literally turn people to goo, the Ichor and be merged back into the Primordial Sea as a collective of consciousness. Rene turned himself into goo by accident hoping to create New Humans. This then became his real solution as he planned to merge all Fontainians into himself as consciousness goo. This was to prevent them from turning into Primordial Sea goo according to the Fontaine prophecy. Now what do we have? Dragon boy wants us to turn Natlan into Phlogiston goo, a collective of consciousness!
We can even rope Ei into this because while she didn't go so far as to turn Inazuma into goo, her static eternity was essentially what these geniuses were shooting for. Deshret's Golden Slumber would preserve humanity as data because he was still mourning the loss of Nabu. Remus and Rene both feared the prophecy so their consciousness goo was meant to protect the people against dissolving. Yeah they didn't think that one through. And finally Xiuhcoatl intended to preserve everybody in Phlogiston goo because Phlogiston couldn't be corrupted by the Abyss and was also able to cancel out the Abyss.
Thankfully somebody always figures out the problem with life as collective goo in a story based around Gnosticism. Yae motivated us to show Ei the value of Impermanence so now Inazuma's no longer isolated and progressing normally. Jeht's dad put an end to the Golden Slumber and then we got a glimpse at what Ei's static eternity could have been when we arrived at the Orchard of Pairidaeza, a moment frozen forever in time. Rene was opposed by Mary-Ann and Alain. Remus woke himself up but was too late to stop Boethius so Cassiodor and Scylla helped destroy Remuria which took the Grand Symphony with it. And now in Natlan
Yeah you can't grow from your experiences to better understand god if you're goo. You need to stop being "something that used to be 'it'" and get back to your friends to go on more adventures.
Now considering how destructive this all seems it may be easy to see this as a Void Plan based on my old Three Realms theory. However because these plans all involve uniting the people I'd actually call it a Light Plan and this then falls in line with Celestia's own plan of controlling humanity's development such that it won't grow decadent and summon Honkai Eruptions.
This goes along with the Gnostism basis which we'd been seeing since the beginning. Zhongli and Yae both have plans to nurture humanity's development because though they are weak they have the potential for great change which elemental beings lacked. Nahida brought this up with Apep as well and Focalors spent 400 years convincing Neuvillette of it after Neuvillette had previously sided with Nibelung.

Speaking of our Dragon King this World Quest Series has added a few new details to the existing lore. For one
It was previously believed that Nibelung was one of the Dragon Sovereigns or even a king above the sovereigns. Now thanks to the first hand account of an actual dragon we may be seeing that Nibelung isn't a dragon at all and didn't simply use Abyssal power, the power from beyond the world. Instead it was the first Durin and Elynas, a powerful being created from the Abyss to manipulate the dragons into another Void Plan which corrupted them with Abyssal Energy. Xiuhcoatl for example had been sealed by Celestia but Nibelung was able to wake him through the Abyssal Corruption already inside of him. Out of fear of losing his mind he created Huitzilopochtli.
In Nahida's Second Character Quest we were told what it takes for elemental beings to assume other forms. As Nahida was only 500 years old she hadn't accumulated enough elemental energy to transform so she had to force it which she could only do temporarily. However we know Venti has taken on a human form and even more so Zhongli has taken multiple forms. This is explained by Venti using the Gnosis to achieve it and he hasn't changed form since while Zhongli is one of the oldest beings on Teyvat, possibly as old as Teyvat itself. However now there seems to be more to it. Instead of just accumulating the energy it could be more about acquiring the correct knowledge through the accumulation of that energy. Elemental beings are highly dependent on the amount of energy they possess. They can be healed with it, mature by collecting it and they can devolve by losing it. Elemental energy was also explained as memories. Therefore the real reason why the elderly Zhongli can freely take on multiple forms is because he's also a very old dragon with full knowledge on how to use Iridescent Inscriptions to manipulate Phlogiston which is the purest form of elemental energy. (it could even go beyond that)

In v5.2 there are notes you can find where Ockan explained that he was shown a "ladder" leading to the heavens. Previously I'd believed this was the connection Celestia once had with humanity that was mentioned in the Prayers Artifacts Series. Now we know he was actually talking about this sky-cable, an attempt by the dragons to breach the false sky.

Finally we have more details on the information we'd first gotten during the Three Realms Gateway Offering. In the event we were told by Tsumi that Celestia changed the soil from a form that was inhospitable to modern lifeforms but was suitable to elemental lifeforms like the dragons. This was reinforced in the Chenyu Vale World Quest where Lingyuan also explains that the original structure of plants like the ones used to make tea suited elemental beings as well and this tea didn't taste very good to the Traveler or Paimon. Here we're told about this again only now we have the term Phlogiston so once again this reinforces the idea that the Heavenly Principles converted pure elemental energy, Phlogiston into the current seven elements which limits its scope. Humanity struggled in this older world so now with it limited, it was able to thrive.

The last thing I want to bring up is something I don't think miHoYo intends anymore but for some reason the information still seems to line up.
Right now at the surface level we understand that Xiuhcoatl was the Pyro Dragon Sovereign and leader of the dragons at least in Natlan. Under him we have his younger brother Waxaklahun Ubah Kan who then had a son Ochkan who was part human. Across most of the lore that's all there really is to this and we only learned of the sibling relationship between Xiuhcoatl and Kukulkan in the last part of the last quest.
However when the first pieces of information relating to this released the story seemed to be going a different direction. I theorized that the Pyro Dragon was actually referenced as several different characters in the reading. Ultimately that led me to believe that just as Cocouik was the separated mind of Ochkan and that Xiuhcoatl faked its death to escape the Heavenly Principles, perhaps the Pyro Dragon Sovereign played a long game that led to it splitting itself into Waxaklahun Ubah Kan, Ochkan (and therefore Cocouik) and even our Almighty Dragonlord K'uhul Ajaw.

Imagine being created by someone that was just born themselves. It's as if you were just a part of that person. That's on top of the fact that Waxaklahun Ubah Kan and Kukulkan are Mayan names for the same divine dragon in real life just like in the game.

Speaking of questionable things in Natlan's lore, we have now learned that our time with "Bona" was actually just another manipulation by Kukulkan. The thing is that doesn't make sense. While it is perfectly fine for the Bona we met in Ochkanatlan to have actually been Kukulkan, we met the real Bona during the events of the Archon Quest. This could not be Kukulkan because every spirit we encountered during that sequence of events was a soul in the Night Kingdom that was temporarily resurrected thanks to Mavuika's plan in Act IV. The Traveler even brings this up recently during the Bloomflower Trials. And this Bona remembers our adventure with her into the Tonatiuh.

Ok quick summary:
- It seems each region has somebody that thinks the solution to the world's problems is to turn everybody into goo.
- Nibelung is not a dragon. It's an Abyssal creature like Durin and Elynas.
- Elemental beings may not just need energy to transform into different forms. Instead it's about the knowledge they gain by absorbing enough energy such that they know how to manipulate Phlogiston, the true form of elemental energy.
- The original planet existed under a Phlogiston system. Phlogiston is pure elemental energy which is perfect for elemental beings. Celestia changed Phologiston into the seven elements and this includes the elemental energy in nature like the soil which was a major part of both the Three Realms Gateway Offering event and the Blessings of Sunken Jade World Quest Series.
- If Kukulkan is the younger brother of Xiuhcoatl but was created by Xiuhcoatl and at the same time that Xiuhcoatl, a Dragon Sovereign was born doesn't that only make sense if Kukulkan was a split-off aspect of Xiuhcoatl? My younger brother was definitely not my creation and I certainly didn't create him when I myself was born. If anything that'd be a twin for us humans and we know how this game treats the concept of twins.
- Bona was actually present when souls from the Night Kingdom were resurrected to help us in Act V. She remembered going together with the Traveler up to Tonatiuh. How could this be Kukulkan in disguise?
Anyway I suppose we'll also be getting a World Quest Series in Snezhnaya where some new yoohoo will want to turn everybody into goo. The Frostmoon Scions maybe? The Lightkeepers? Perhaps instead of goo they'll be thematic and freeze everyone in timeless ice. Let's see!
There's actually a little more to this World Quest that actually helps with my previous topic about Bifrons. In it I questioned miHoYo's decision to claim that Natlan never experienced the Archon War because according to what they had Acatl say, the gods had no way into the conflict already taking place among the dragons. Thanks to Nahida's Second Character Quest we know that dragons and gods are both just different power levels of elemental beings and therefore are essentially the same thing. This is especially true if we consider that Saurians are just called dragons in Chinese which suggests significant overlap in power levels between the two groups. Bifrons might even show overlap between Archons and far weaker elemental beings like slimes and specters thus making these categories almost inconsequential. Consider that an elemental being is only as strong as the amount of elemental energy it possesses therefore a dragon that has lost almost all of its energy might just be as powerful or potentially even weaker than a slime that has the most elemental energy it can have before changing into a stronger form.
Now in this World Quest we learn that the dragons had tried to experiment with creating human/dragon hybrids. Well-
Looks like Archons had tried that too. This paragraph is from Ororon's Character Story 4. Thus Archon = god = dragon. Therefore if the dragons (that are no different from Archons) were the reason other gods couldn't engage in conflict in Natlan then that still means Natlan was part of the Archon War. Their battling Archons were just being categorized as dragons rather than gods. Thus the war ended in their region when Xbalanque killed the Pyro Dragon and sat upon the Pyro Archon's Divine Throne wielding his new Pyro Gnosis just like how the war ended in every other region. And also that justifies why Bifrons wouldn't have noticed that there was no Archon War in Natlan because there was and Natlanese were just educated poorly on this old history.
