Dear Chessfriends,
in the 2nd round of the Hivechess tournaments 12 players participated, all arrived on time. We could welcome three new players this season: @foxconnmars, @sammy00 (migmag) and @evgsk (evgchess), all well known from Steemchess (or last Hivechess season)!
The field was quite strong again with an average rating of 1815.
It was the day of @jrevilla (josephchess90) who won all his games! Congratulations! His tournament performance was 2435! @jaki01 had to take the second place, also not bad with all games won except the one against the winner. Third place went to @foxconnmars.
Fourth and fifth places were very close (same points and same tie break!) and were taken by @pereu4ivatel (drakOnb) and @gingerbyna (Jeanjarrgh). The remaining tournament points were grabbed by @yazp (zulukill), myself (worst position in a Hivechess round so far!) and @maciejficek (XM9000). @sammy00 (migmag), @schamangerbert (HerbyW), @evgsk (evgchess) and @rodrook could not score this time, maybe next time!

@jaki01 is still first but @jrevilla could come quite close to him and is only 1 point away!
Third rank is currently a close match between @yazp and @pereu4ivatel. What a difference compared to the standings of last season. I will try to fight back and improve in the next rounds!
By the way, in case two players have the same number of points, the one who played less rounds is first (he achieved more points per round). If both have played the same number of rounds, then the average tournament performance makes the difference.
Payouts:
The winner of each round gets 8 points, the second 7,... and the 8th 1 point.
Season 2 goes over 11 rounds and all points are summed up. All Hivechess-related post rewards are pooled and 90% go to the price pool. The winner will get 30% of that price pool, the second 20%, the third 10%, the rest is divided equally among the other players active on Hive or Steem, according to the no. of rounds they have played. So everyone has a chance to get something and the more you play the more you win! Prices are payed out in Hive Tokens.

Thanks! It was fun but not so easy, especially against @jaki01 who had a winning position after I blundered the opening. I was annoying and lucky in that game though and succeeded. I hope to continue participating in this tournament in the future. By the way, I bringing up in my posts some of the games I played there! See you guys.
Great! If you continue to play, then the battle for the first price will be a tough one! I won´t be that easy for @jaki01 like in the previous season :)
There is a mistake in table. @maciejficek is written 2 times, once as new, as evgchess.
Why drakonb is 4th and JeanJarrgh is 5th if they have the same points and tie break? Which factor decided that?
Thanks for your comments! It was too late yesterday. Corrected. I also added that part of the rules that was left out. The average tournament performance is then the deciding element.
