Well fought Swiss I could win this Friday in Hivechess!

As always, every Friday there is a Hivechess competition at Lichess, the new season is here and after a long time waiting there are finally new games, this time discarding the arena format and opting for a Swiss one where there is a set number of rounds

So it is a slightly more competitive format and less dependent on how quickly you finish the games, something that sometimes suits me and sometimes not so much, good games were played and again there are excellent players.

I haven't trained too much this time, just a couple of bullet games for a post I wanted to do later, so I'm a bit rusty.

We started with the main event in the first game, one against my common rival in these tournaments where they are always close games full of opportunities for both sides

A vibrant middlegame quite closed where she was attacking me on the queenside and I was trying to make some progress on the kingside, let's say that my plan was a bit faster and I was able to create an imbalance in the position

It is one of the best games I played in this tournament, that's why I put it first, in previous posts I would have put it last but it was important to aspire to the first places.

I also had a very solid game against one of the strongest players in the tournament @stayoutoftherz who had been winning a couple of games and I wanted to get even by playing something different. I know that in the opening he might have more of an advantage so I tried to play as far from theory as possible.

We got into a close endgame where I had a small advantage with a pawn far from the center and all my attack focused on an isolated pawn, although the game was decided in a blunder where he lost a rook.

The one I still haven't been able to beat this season is FCastro who has been playing for 3 games, I think. beating me in a good way, I have a bit of a mental block when I play against him and I'm super alert of everything that can happen in the game, but he always ends up beating me, this game was no different.

Still, due to other results and my good tournament I was able to finish in first position, the first of the season and I hope I can repeat it next week, good games and some new players got into the tournament this week, so I'll see you next week.
