back to the boards... and I suck at chess

I'm back on the boards after a well-deserved vacation and I'm already feeling the after-effects of not training at all as well as not having studied anything at Christmas

It turns out that I joined a local team and we've been playing some online tournaments in some of the leagues that lichess has

Some tournaments are better than others but something I have noticed is my deficiency when it comes to playing short-times

It seems that I can't play Blitz anymore and I can't think logically when I'm in the middle of a more or less complicated position

And I blame it all on not even touching a board in the middle of the Christmas break

Here are some games I played in the last few weeks and it's pretty obvious that I'm out of shape and can't find the easiest moves

Don't get me wrong, I still play decent chess, but the truth is that when push comes to shove against players who are either stronger or of my own level, I tend to falter quite a bit

A recurring problem that I've always had even in my best moments is the endgames and I think it's time to patch that weakness

Because most of the time when I find myself at a disadvantage I tend to mistakenly go into a disadvantaged endgame by greatly overestimating my position

Even so, I still have these moments where I know that my spark is still active and I can face opponents of my same level or higher without losing my style, my plans usually make sense in the openings that I know although it is also true that I need to reinforce this point

It has been something like 7 years since I have studied any opening in depth and there are some systems that I still do not fully master, especially in the king pawn systems

Let's see how much I can reinforce that before the strongest hivechess tournaments begin, which even today I look forward to with great anticipation of what is to come
