RE: KoiChoco - 46-48 Hour Mark Impressions (Spoilers)

Welcome. Have you found any Anime that made you want to check out the source of? This is my third or fourth one that did that. Any visual novels that you were curious about but never played yet? šŸ˜Ž

Sort: Ā

I donā€™t even know about visual novels. Iā€™m honestly fairly novice. I loved Akira, and my friend in the army told me how the guy painted each scene on giant canvas, which was how they got all the detail. I also loved:
Fullmetal Alchemist (I know it was written for Netflix which feels kind of cheap and dirty, but I was absolutely smitten)
Spirited Away(same thing. Written for Disney, but justā€¦what an amazing journey.)
Iā€™m 41 years old, so I played the living F*CK out of FFVII which, although itā€™s not full on anime, definitely has some hefty anime vibes.
I never got into dragon ball-z or PokĆ©mon or anything, but Iā€™m assuming theyā€™d be cool if I tried them.
I liked onepunch, although it was probably my least favorite.
Last thing I can think of, Grave of the Fireflies was an absolute crush, I loved it.
Not to get too graphic, but I also was a sucker for anime ā€œNSFWā€ content in my early teen years - though now I personally steer clear of such content of any genreā€¦anyway, yeah if you have any good show/movie recommendations based on the above, Iā€™d love to check them out!

Have you played this official Sonic VN yet made by Sonic Team? Itā€™s not something Iā€™ve played yet but is considered all-ages. You have an interesting perspective then. Iā€™d love it if you posted a full post about the kind of stories you enjoy and any possible questions you have in this community.

Youā€™re open to creating a story from a request??? With art!!??? ā€¦still cool even if Iā€™m over-imagining šŸ¤£

More like finding recommendations. The stigma that all VNs are only sex based is something I would love to alleviate, but if itā€™s there, I view it in context. If you view the other parts, itā€™s very isolated to towards the end and thereā€™s an all ages version coming soon to probably steam

Im all about wizards and stuff, as well as having a loyal army of crows - so if you had a story about a witch or wizard who is followed by a pack of crows, Iā€™d be stoked to read it! I donā€™t want to be too specific and stifle creativity, so I guess this is my recommendation lol :)

I haven't touched any of the Fate or Rance games yet but both franchises are going to be the closest you'll get to that style. They're both Eroge (sexually explicit; medieval visual novels that are not set in Feudal Japan or a school of some type are extremely niche due to market appeal).

If you want to get into Fate to see if you'd like to pursue that series (which I would love to see thoughts on from a non-Visual Novel player, to be honest), many people recommend watching the Anime Fate/Zero. The original Fate/Stay Night adaptation by Studio Deen can be hit or miss depending on how you feel about the art style and some of its "humor."

On the Full Metal Alchemist, was that live action or the Anime?

Dude, thanks for the recommendation! I'm not sure how to get started with any of this, but I'm gonna google it and figure it out because it sounds awesome!

On fullmetal, I did watch both, but I really only cared for the anime. also, there were times when I had to watch the dubbed version (cuz I can't read subtitles AND fold laundry šŸ˜†) but I really prefer the Japanese version with subtitles. The voices and the energy are all so much better that way for me personally.

...Once I figure out how/where to watch Fate, I'm going to chew through it and watch it all. After that, I'll be searching online (or perhaps bothering you for assistance) to figure out how to gain access to the VN game - this all sounds so rad, I'm stoked man!
