I've always really enjoyed drawing undead monsters for fantasy games. I know that may seem a bit ghoulish, but there is nothing that says fantasy for me quite like adventurers facing off against some horrific undead (unless it is something demonic or dragons, then yeah). I digress, however. This is another piece I did for Expeditious Retreat Press for a monster book that they put out. The shadow lord is a boss level undead baddie that leads the hordes of undead into battle. An undead general. Of course, I couldn't pass up a chance at that. I'm certain with one of these ghoulies leading a host of dead soldiers would give anyone nightmares for the rest of their days. Cheers and happy gaming!
The undead are one of the most iconic foes in most fantasy settings. What's a D&D campaign without zombies and skellies? What fantasy war game tournament is complete without an army of necromancy?
The silhouette of the General reads brilliantly and I love the use of negative space.
Nice
I think that a unholy paladin

Like this style. Reminds me to Magnus & Bunker. 😎
And thus a new religion was born! Haha
