Bright and fun Pepes for Voyage Finance

in OnChainArt3 years ago (edited)

Greetings!

I haven't posted anything in ages, but man, it feels so good to finally have time and an opportunity to share my work. For the past few months I've working almost exclusively on emote sets, mostly featuring Pepes, and my latest project was just like that too. This time I've been designing some fun emotes for Voyage Finance.

Voyage is the first Web3 protocol to allow guilds to leverage their game assets (NFTs) and efficiently scale their operations and capital. The GameFi industry is one of the fastest growing pockets within the Web3 space, and Voyage will be at the forefront of the ecosystem supercharging games, guilds, and players alike.

As someone who's pretty excited about web3 gaming, I was absolutely thrilled to have this opportunity to work with them - to decorate their community with some fun emotes. " "Dividervoyage.png"" The creative journey

The journey starts by picking the key elements - idea, imagery, colors. Of course, it was obvious right away that the emotes would have to be related to the idea of a voyage, and that the colors should take after the brand/logo.

I picked a rather standard Pepe emote - MonkaS - to serve as my model, and started designing on top of this. Thus the first concepts sheet was born.

At this point I was exploring mainly the idea of the ship captain, steering the ship towards new horizons, but at some stage I also added in a common sailor - a part of the crew, a part of the journey, helping the ship move - that would perfectly describe the community members that support the project. On the other hand, at this point, my Viking Pepe was no longer fitting in thematically - this is about journey, not conquering.

The second concepts sheet introduced the idea of pirates, as opposing force to the ship captains. The color scheme started to solidify now. We knew that we want to keep the emotes bright and playful.

Thus there's been some slight variation changes, before we finally decided on the final design.

The emote set

Once the designs were set in stone, it was time to create the actual emotes, featuring these designs.
Some statics, some animated emotes, a wide variety of expressions - suiting many different situations, brightening the mood.
