Hello, friends. I finished this painting today. I was impatient to share it with you. It came across my memories from 1989. Till this moment our country was under communist pressure. In 1989 governments changed and democracy came. I was in the first year at school, 7 years old. I remember this time with a power blackout. This painting is related to that. I often drew my drawings of the candlelight. It was wintertime while was waiting for my parents to come back from work. This period remarks on my path as an artist. Who knows that this will be my life...
I tried to not no be so detailed in this painting. Trying to use some symbols which remark this time. Some of my colleagues who are artists from my country might remember that time in the same way. I also received a sketchbook from my friend which is from the 80s. It was so wonderful to see that sketchbook. He had kept it for so many years. The sheets of paper are empty, but almost with yellowed sheets. I feel so good when I look at this sketchbook. There are so many years gathered there...I painted it in the foreground.
Yours,
Silviya

Thank you very much!
nice
Thanks.
Wow I like it! And I really like how you didn't need a lot of details to make it a beautiful work
Thank you so much! It was my goal.
I remember my parents always telling me not to read in the dark as it was bad for my eyesight, guess you wouldn't have much of a choice about whether or not you drew in the dark if the power keeps getting cut XD
This is a nice moody piece, feels a bit melancholy :)
Yes, I feel the same way, thank you!
I remember that I was at school till the late afternoon, I made my drawings after that. The days were too short.
