Hello hiveians. I just want to share my stress reliever hobby, the “stippling shading”. Stippling is a drawing technique in which only dots are used to create areas of light and shade. The basic concept is straightforward: for darker areas, use a larger number of dots that are closely spaced.
Stippling works well with practically any subject. It may be used to create a wide range of tone effects, from very dark images like the rose design below to subtle, sensitive compositions like my depiction of the right hand. If you've never used stippling before, it's a good idea to practice establishing a value scale, as demonstrated in the sample at the bottom, before moving on to more sophisticated issues. Make sure there are no gaps between the numbers and that the transitions are smooth. To avoid forming unwanted "tails" on your dots, keep your pen vertical to the paper while working. Take your time, first and foremost.
Thank you so much for taking time to read my post. Have a great day ahead!
