From Easel to Altar | The Perfect Personal Wedding Gift

in OnChainArt7 months ago

Whenever it comes to attain any wedding, the second tension that arrives in our mind is the “the wedding gift” (first one is obviously what to wear :3). Normally I don’t bother much with this gift issue but for my close ones program, I try to give something meaningful, uncommon with personal touch. As I love to paint, I try to make something according to their taste or preference. But if you want my suggestion, you can tailor the painting to reflect something meaningful to the couple, such as their favorite colors, a shared memory, or a place that holds significance for them.

Because I think gifting a personal painting for a close one’s program is a heartfelt gesture that carries deep meaning and sentiment. And it can turn into a one-of-a-kind gift that beats store-bought items. Because no one else will have the same gift, making it incredibly special for the recipients.

The best part is, creating a painting takes time, effort, and thought. This effort shows your love and appreciation for the couple, making the gift emotionally valuable.

So this time, I’m attending a wedding program of one of my neighbors who is like my brother. Our housing society is like a well connected community. We know each other, we play together, and whenever it comes for any community program, we all join together. S this brother holds a special memory for me as we used to play badminton together. Every winter, we gather up in the evening and arrange our team partners. Even on the 31st night, our community holds tournaments which turns into the most exciting event for us! Ah, I still love to cherish these memories!

Okay so my badminton partner brother came the other day, holding his wedding card for me. I was truly excited and thinking about what I would give in his wedding. I was working on glass color recently so I thought why not make a glass painting for him? So I immediately start my project!

There’s a special kind of magic that comes from creating art on glass. I took my colorful acrylic markers and an acrylic sheet of flat glass. You can buy acrylic sheets from art and craft stores. But the problem with acrylic sheets is it’s so hard to smoothly cut it down with proper measures. I was tired of anti cutters and it was the hardest thing to do.

Before starting any painting, I prepared the workspace. Creating a cozy and inspiring workspace is key to unleashing the creativity. Usually I set up my small table by the window, letting the natural light flood in. But as I start the project at night, I couldn’t get the help of the sunlight.

First I laid out my glass sheet, markers, and a few reference images of bohemian floral designs that I had found online. The bohemian style, with its free-spirited and eclectic patterns, felt like the perfect choice for my first glass painting project.

With everything in place, I picked up my first acrylic marker and let my imagination flow. There’s something incredibly soothing about watching the colors glide smoothly across the glass. I was putting different color spots as background. The markers’ vibrant hues contrasted beautifully with the transparent background, making every stroke come to life.

As I start painting, I found myself lost in the process. The floral designs began to take shape, each petal and leaf adding to the intricate tapestry of colors and patterns.

I tried to make the detailing with thin nibs of my acrylic markers. I experimented with different techniques, like layering colors for depth and using varying pressures to create delicate and bold lines.

Well, not every moment was perfect; there were smudges and mistakes. In some places, I couldn’t make proper colour contrast. But hey, that’s the beauty of glass painting, it’s forgiving. These small setbacks taught me to be patient and enjoy the journey rather than rushing to the final outcome.

After hours of painting, I’m finally done! I think the bohemian floral design doesn’t look that bad. All those different colors make a vivid artwork.

Glass painting has become more than just a hobby for me. It’s like a form of meditation. The process of creating something beautiful from a simple glass sheet is simply rewarding. It’s a constant reminder that with patience and creativity, even the most ordinary objects can become extraordinary.
