Today I want to show you my participation in the FANART SHOUTING MIRROR Initiative
@shoutingmirror is a project born from the union of two unique artists @ariapost & @ragaroot, who combined their skills to give life to an interesting project, they focus on illustrating and telling "horror stories" and a decision that I loved, was to move away from fantastic stories, where evil came from a practically fictional seed and concentrated on stories more tied to reality, to the real malice, to the horror that can easily be happening right now, of course there are exaggerations in the stories that are told, but as my mother used to say, repeating my grandmother, you have to be more afraid of the living than the dead.

Hoy quiero mostraros mi participación en la Iniciativa FANART SHOUTING MIRROR
@shoutingmirror es un proyecto que nace de la unión de dos artistas únicos @ariapost & @ragaroot, que combinaron sus habilidades para dar vida a un proyecto interesante, se centran en ilustrar y contar "historias de terror" y una decisión que me encantó, fue alejarse de las historias fantásticas, donde el mal provenía de una semilla prácticamente ficticia y se concentraron en historias más ligadas a la realidad, a la maldad real, al horror que fácilmente puede estar sucediendo ahora mismo, claro que hay exageraciones en las historias que se cuentan, pero como decía mi madre, repitiendo a mi abuela, hay que tener más miedo a los vivos que a los muertos.
One thing all the stories share in common in shouting mirror so far. In them there are female victims, in their youth, when they are innocent, when they are not aware that the world is much bigger than they can imagine, when they do not have or do not know of tools to defend themselves from a vast problem, which I am sure is real, and it really scares me, that similar stories are happening at this very moment.
The initiative invites you to choose a character that belongs to the exposed stories and make a fanart referring to these. I'm going to take the liberty of putting together a concept to my fan art and try to give it a more symbolic value.
As I had pointed out these stories have several things in common, and among these: the female victim; who earned something she did not deserve and this reminds me of a character of classical literature, Ophelia of Hamlet, who, in my opinion, committed suicide or became "crazy", for reasons exogenous to her. naively believed that it was her fault what was happening, or that it was her duty to have tools to solve the problems around her and with this martyrdom decided to throw herself into the river. This is where I relate Ofelia to clementina, Cristine, Carmen, Camila, etc., all victims of decisions they did not make, or did not know the consequences they contained.
Blue Child is a story, about the twisted bond a man has with his deceased daughter and deceased wife.
Una cosa tienen en común todas las historias de Gritar en el espejo hasta ahora. En ellas hay mujeres víctimas, en su juventud, cuando son inocentes, cuando no son conscientes de que el mundo es mucho más grande de lo que pueden imaginar, cuando no tienen o no saben de herramientas para defenderse de un vasto problema, que estoy segura es real, y realmente me asusta, que historias similares estén sucediendo en este mismo momento.
La iniciativa invita a elegir un personaje que pertenezca a las historias expuestas y hacer un fanart referente a estas. Yo me voy a tomar la libertad de armar un concepto a mi fan art y tratar de darle un valor más simbólico.
Como había señalado estas historias tienen varias cosas en común, y entre ellas: la mujer víctima; que se ganó algo que no merecía y esto me recuerda a un personaje de la literatura clásica, Ofelia de Hamlet, que, en mi opinión, se suicidó o se volvió "loca", por razones exógenas a ella. creyó ingenuamente que era su culpa lo que estaba pasando, o que era su deber tener herramientas para solucionar los problemas que la rodeaban y con este martirio decidió tirarse al río. Aquí es donde relaciono a Ofelia con clementina, Cristine, Carmen, Camila, etc., todas víctimas de decisiones que no tomaron, o no sabían las consecuencias que contenían.
Niña Azul es un cuento, sobre el retorcido vínculo que tiene un hombre con su hija y esposa fallecida.

The title of this story (Blue Child) probably refers to the skin tone of a girl who died by hanging, which is the last thing her murderer saw, and this he reflected in the imaginary character that created his mind, so that he would not forget this event. -"I hold her neck in my hands and her blue face looks peaceful".
El título de este relato (Niño Azul) probablemente hace referencia al tono de piel de una niña que murió ahorcada, que es lo último que vio su asesino, y esto lo reflejó en el personaje imaginario que creó su mente, para no olvidar este suceso. -"Sostengo su cuello entre mis manos y su rostro azul parece tranquilo".

The main element that is taken from this painting when it is referenced in any other medium are the flowers and the woman submerged in water, flowers and women are one of the oldest relationships that exist in the history of art, and perhaps this relationship is made in an optimistic way, but in shouting mirror, there is nothing optimistic, at least so far. I would like these flowers to represent the tribute you offer to a dead person, because it is the only thing I can offer to these fictitious victims, who represent many real victims.
El principal elemento que se extrae de este cuadro cuando se hace referencia a él en cualquier otro medio son las flores y la mujer sumergida en el agua, las flores y las mujeres son una de las relaciones más antiguas que existen en la historia del arte, y quizás esta relación está hecha de forma optimista, pero en el espejo que grita, no hay nada optimista, al menos hasta ahora. Me gustaría que estas flores representaran el homenaje que se ofrece a un muerto, porque es lo único que puedo ofrecer a estas víctimas ficticias, que representan a muchas víctimas reales.

The illustration of the character
I have already commented that I will use the Blue Child element, and I drew a young girl with a blue skin, far from any flashy red that would make believe that through her body still runs blood, dripping wet as if she was taken out of a river, dirty, without pupil and with a dispirited expression. These elements made up my Blue Child.

Ya he comentado que utilizaré el elemento Niña Azul, y dibujé a una joven con la piel azul, alejada de cualquier rojo llamativo que hiciera creer que por su cuerpo aún corre sangre, chorreando húmeda como si la hubieran sacado de un río, sucia, sin pupila y con una expresión desanimada. Estos elementos conformaron mi Niña Azul.
I colored the character with a brush that emulates watercolor, to give texture and feel something "naive", in case you do not know there is an artistic trend called naive, characterized by naivety and spontaneity, these try to emulate the genius and innocence that a child has.
He coloreado al personaje con un pincel que emula a la acuarela, para darle textura y sentir algo "naif", por si no lo sabéis existe una corriente artística llamada naif, caracterizada por la ingenuidad y la espontaneidad, estas tratan de emular la genialidad e inocencia que tiene un niño.
Then in the composition, I joined the illustrated with the flowers, hoping that they would cuddle my Blue Child, and in the background, a small picture with clouds, represents the sky: the only place where the Blue Childs can have the calm that nothing bad can happen to them anymore.
Después, en la composición, uní lo ilustrado con las flores, con la esperanza de que acurrucaran a mi Niño Azul, y en el fondo, un pequeño cuadro con nubes, representa el cielo: el único lugar donde los Niños Azules pueden tener la calma de que ya nada malo les puede pasar.
At the end with Photoshop tools, I can manipulate the color of all the objects, and so combine them to make it look like they all belong to the same image and this is the final result.
Al final con las herramientas de Photoshop, puedo manipular el color de todos los objetos, y así combinarlos para que parezca que todos pertenecen a la misma imagen y este es el resultado final.

Muy expresivo el rostro de la niña.
Es un aporte interesante a un proyecto interesante, la profundidad que quisiste expresar más allá de un fanart se nota a la distancia, me gustaron muchos los distintos tonos de azul que usaste para colorear la piel del niño, el rostro refleja tanto cansancio, ¡es un excelente trabajo!
