Old stone mill in Thurso, Scotland.

This is my second painting on a full 9x12 in sheet of Waterford paper. Earlier I had done two small half size paintings of Camel and a Red panda, and a full of Dal lake. Waterford paper being ten times expensive than the normal cotton banade paper I use, I was very serious in painting this. 😁
Started with a value study and then completed the drawing with perspectives in line.

The reference image was a dim and cloudy may be Some HDR in it.. I wanted to keep the painting bright. Pthalo blue and Manganese blue with little violet for shadows did the trick
Followed by the variety of greens and the stone house
Stone house had to be done with care. Getting the right grey was little tricky and then the stone texture to be made with care so that it doesn't lose perspective.
Finally the reflection of water, which is quite different from the reference. The cloudy sky casts dark greyish tone in water, bu there the bright blue sky had to be a darker rich blue.. may be a more denser blue would have been better.
