This image feels like it makes so much more sense now. A dystopian shell of its former self, what was once a lively and colorful place has devolved into a colorless monument to one.
When I originally created this image, it was accompanied by a short story about Steem rising when the rest of the world fell in a futuristic dystopian setting. I think I'll share that again with a few modifications. ;)
The year is 2150. The Steem Citadel stands looming over the rest of the city like some dark behemoth lording over it's minions. A beacon and reminder of all that was lost. The old order, long gone now and replaced by these fractured communities around their different currencies.
No longer do the people rally around their flags, their useless symbols and idols. No...it's all about the currencies now. After the great crash of 2084, when the last great fiat currency came tumbling down, it brought the rest of the world with it. Militaries without governments to pay them turned to mercenaries. Borders became meaningless. When the cities started to fall, everyone just assumed that someone would be coming to help, that someone would take control...none did.
At least not until the blockchains.
In what would later be known as the first great blockchain war, a prelude to what would become humanity's evolution into their newest way of destroying themselves. The Steem and Hive blockchains became the blueprint for the fight for freedom vs tyranny.
So here we are. In the future that THEY have built...the blockchains. The votes that they cast move worlds, and to think, the legend is the first of them earned all those tokens by posting pictures of bugs and cats, and crappy artwork and writing on the internet...what a world.
What they don't know is that the lower coiners are getting sick of being pushed around, of not having a say. We're sick of groveling for an upvote, or having your entire future dashed because of a downvote from one of them in a bad mood. The time has come for US to rise. The time has come...for DOGE!
😝 So yea. I still think the new version is funny too.
This image was born from when I was experimenting with the new displacement feature in Substance Painter.
Allowed me to make a "Futuristic Building Material" that I could then just drag and drop on really simple shapes to get them to be futuristic buildings. Pretty fun stuff.
I'll be happy when the drama with our ex is no longer our focus and we can concentrate on doing what needs to be done here so we can evolve to the next level.
Until then, keep makin cool stuff.
As a newcomer i think the first picture which has green steem symbol really looks great. However the future dream is a possible thing...
We are in control of the channel switcher, I kind of like the drama a little bit, but when I grow tired of it I just move on and by-pass the As the Steem Turns channel. I remember you showing the process in a few post back "in the Day", We all have access to the tools, but few, (myself included), take time to learn how to use them.
Doge. I KNEW IT.
XD
Oh my goodness, I forgot about this one! It was one of the first posts I saw back when I first joined Steemit, and it seems do ironical now XD
Steemit has truly become the dystopian autocracy that you've once foretold, with an altar built to enshrine the Sun God! I think we should probably extend this into a short story or novel, to celebrate that day when HIVE was born :-)
One for all, all for one... Doge ▼・ᴥ・▼
That's the beauty of art I suppose. With new paradigms new means sometimes arise.
