Painting portraits is a tricky thing; put a brushstroke a millimetre off and then there's something about the eyes (or whatever feature) that just isn't right and will not give you any peace until you fix it. It's a challenge I will face off against repeatedly in the future.
This above image is my first ever self-portrait. The idea was inspired from Arnold Böcklin (Isle of the Dead fame) and his self portrait.
I named mine, "Not Now Death, I'm Painting".

Those are very nice and polished, great work! For the self-portrait I dig that death is playing the violin w/ one string remaining.. feels like its not long before the music stops. Very ominous.
