Watercolor painting #11

Good day hivers! I want to share my latest watercolor portrait. Today I focus on highlights, I've been doing watercolor painting for almost a a year now and every time I paint as much as possible I'm trying to learn new and different style.

The struggle I face while painting this piece is the details, although it is not really a detailed one, I'm still struggling to some small details like the eyelids and hair strands.

Aside from landscapes, I always love to paint human faces and figures, I picked this reference for the reason that it has bright colors on her hair, and this made me think to try or add bright colors on my next paintings.

I always wanted to paint loose paintings but I as of now i do not have materials for that art style. But as soon as I got them I'll definitely try it to share with you guys 💛

PROGRESS:

I'm still using grids for sketching and as of now I'm practicing free hand sketches.

The first layer requires a lighter paint for me to see the areas where there should be lighter paint like the highlights of her face.
