Greetings, everyone!
This is the realistic drawing that I made today, and I want to share it with you with an explanation of the process.
First of all, I changed the man's hairstyle to dread. It was the client idea. She said he loves dreadlock and asked if it is possible to change his hairstyle and still have the resemblance, I said yes.
These are all the materials I used for this drawing.
- Fbb paper
- Mono zero eraser
- General's charcoal pencil
- Graphite pencil
- Nataraj eraser
- Electric eraser
- Flat paint and makeup brushes
Steps:
I used a stedler graphite 4B pencil to shade first. The purpose of doing this is to help me outline and define the features and to also know the different tones, like the dark and light parts.
I then apply charcoal powder with the help of brushes to the required tone. (According to the reference), I used the big brushes for a wide area and the small brushes for small areas.
After the shading, I used Tombo mono zero eraser to bring out highlights and details. You can also use a pencil eraser or electric eraser. I mostly use electric eraser for a strong highlight.
I used charcoal pencil to outline and shade before blending as well. Like the clothe👇, I shaded it with General's charcoal pencil. If you look closely, you will see the pencil strokes.
After shading with Charcoal, I blended it with a hard bristle flat paint brush. The hard bristle brush will help retain the darkness of the charcoal pencil while the soft ones will clean out a little.
For the design on the clothe, I used mono zero eraser and electric eraser to achieve it.
Me and the finished artwork. I hope you like it.
Here is the reference I was given.
I'm glad you stopped by. Thank you.
