Dark Art: Robin's Bloody Reflection

¡Hola, comunidad de artistas y nakamas de One Piece! ¿Qué tal están? 👋 Su amigo artista está de vuelta esta semana con una nueva y emocionante pieza. En esta ocasión, he regresado con un personaje que amo dibujar: Nico Robin 💜. Si bien ya la he dibujado antes, esta vez quise darle un giro más oscuro y dramático que realmente capturara su lado más intenso.

Hello, fellow artists and One Piece nakamas! How are you all doing? 👋 Your friendly artist is back this week with an exciting new piece. For this one, I returned to a character I love to draw: Nico Robin 💜. While I've drawn her before, this time I wanted to give it a more dark and dramatic twist that truly captures her intense side.

El Concepto: Imaginé a Nico Robin en un lago de sangre 🩸. Las manos creadas por su poder, el Hana Hana no Mi (Flor-Flor), la rodean de una manera sofocante, casi como si estuviera pasando por una situación límite o al borde de la muerte, con su propio poder consumiéndola. ¡Un retrato brutal!

The Concept: I envisioned Nico Robin in a lake of blood 🩸. The hands created by her power, the Hana Hana no Mi (Flower-Flower Fruit), surround her in a suffocating way, almost as if she is going through a critical moment or on the brink of death, with her own power consuming her. A truly brutal portrait!

El Desafío del Lineart: Como ya saben, siempre me gusta empezar con un lineart súper limpio y detallado. Pero, ¡seamos honestos! Esta vez fue un verdadero reto 😩. Nunca había dibujado tantas manos en tantas formas y ángulos diferentes. Van a notar que algunas manos quedaron un poquito "deformes" por ahí... ¡pero todo es parte del aprendizaje! 😅

The Lineart Challenge: As you know, I always like to start with a super clean and detailed lineart. But, let's be honest! This time was a real challenge 😩. I had never drawn so many hands in so many different shapes and angles. You might notice that some hands look a little "deformed" here and there... but it's all part of the learning process! 😅

Poniendo Color y Tono: Tras pulir el lineart, me enfoqué en el color. Empecé con la piel, usando tonalidades más claras que en mi dibujo anterior de Momo. Detallar la piel de ella y de cada una de las manos fue bastante entretenido (y a veces confuso, ¡buscando las manos perdidas! 😂). Luego vino el cabello y la ropa, buscando que el personaje resaltara.

Adding Color and Tone: After polishing the lineart, I focused on the color. I started with the skin, using lighter tones than in my previous drawing of Momo. Detailing her skin and the skin of each hand was quite entertaining (and sometimes confusing, searching for the lost hands! 😂). Then came the hair and clothes, making sure the character would stand out.

El Toque Final y el Drama: La etapa de detalles es mi favorita 🌟. Trabajé en los lentes, los labios y le agregué una capa en modo Multiplicar para una profundidad increíble. Añadí muchas capas de sombras para ese toque dramático. El resultado final, con el detalle de la sangre, quedó ¡BRUTAL! Se siente como uno de esos retratos espectaculares que se ven en el arte oscuro. Me encantó cómo quedó, y espero que a ustedes también les fascine este lado más intenso de Nico Robin.

The Final Touch and the Drama: The detailing stage is my favorite 🌟. I worked on the lenses, the lips, and added a Multiply layer for incredible depth. I added many layers of shadows for that dramatic touch. The final result, with the blood detail, turned out to be BRUTAL! It feels like one of those spectacular portraits you see in dark art. I loved how it turned out, and I hope you also love this more intense side of Nico Robin.
