FIRST MURAL EXPERIENCE

Hello!

Never in my life did I ever thought that I'll draw a mural, given my basic art skills. Nevertheless, my employer was kind enough, or maybe he just wants free decor for his new office 😅, and I got the chance to help decorate this empty piece of wall in the office! It was most definitely tedious and took me weeks to finish, from an empty white wall to this:

This was actually done years ago, back in 2015, but I thought I'll just post about it so that my mammoth of an effort to complete this mural is not as insignificant as it now seems. 😛 I was still an aspiring video editor and working in a TV commercial production house when my ex-bosses proposed this idea of having me paint a mural. The concept is to incorporate various classic movie/tv series characters into the mural since we are a production house that focus on churning exciting stories for clients. So in the mural, you'll spot the three little pigs, red riding hood and the big bad wolf, little mermaid, jurassic park, tarzan, lord of the rings, harry potter, magic school bus and more!! It was super fun personally and when my colleagues were free, they helped out in the painting part with me too.

In the last picture, you can spot my two bosses atop the mural, I genuinely hope they are happy with it because at one point they insisted to have the faces drawn in cause it looks creepy for them but I resisted that idea cause my drawing skills for facial feature really suck. Personally, I liked the idea of having an empty canvas for the faces anyways, it adds a sense of mystery and in a way, it's like everyone can be a character to an exciting story, we don't exactly have to paint a face and box the character in right? ...do I make sense? 😳 Anyways, the bosses weren't happy about it, it's just creepy to them haha! Maybe at this point, they've already gotten someone else to paint the faces in? Haven't really seen the mural again ever since I left them in 2016.

Long story short, it was my first and last mural, anyone wanna commission me? Cause I really had fun doing this! 😻 Maybe I might draw one more for my own place if I ever get one in the future!
