This is a surreal piece I did a few years ago
It has the dreamy quality I often feel living, myself, by the sea
Though, I must confess I've never taken a whale for a ride.
When making it I imagined her to be holding onto a line hanging from the whale in the sky. I sometimes see it now as if she is poking the whale as it passes by whilst she happily bobs on the water's surface; unaware that her umbrella boat is filling up.
We get some amazing sunsets here, especially in high Summer, with
the sky over the sea shot with orange and candy floss pink and sometimes a lavender that is so unreal
that in photographs I think other's will assume the saturation was fixed in post; but the reality always looks better than the picture.
However, though SOME things are returning to a bit more normal
Reality, overall, is still somewhat over-rated so slipping into an artistic dream of water-walking and badgering passing sky whales can often feel more 'at home' then what the News tells us of the world.
I hope all of you are enjoying this fine Sunday and getting a moment
to dream of flying whales or whatever floats your boat, or umbrella boat in this case.
This one is full of Alice in Wonderland style whimsy XD
Oh, I love Alice. I think of her words of common sense to the Red Queen everytime I watch modern day news. :) @ryivhnn
I love it but I demand robots and singularity and visions of a future inhabited by delicately attired ladies!! ;0)
Your wish is my command mi'Laird ;) Working on a new one anyway @meesterboom
Ooo smashing, they are my favourite!! 😀😀😀
They are increasingly becoming mine as well :) Now to step out of the garden long enough to get to it, eh?
Gardens do take up rather a lot of time!
WOW. i like this piece. and now I know what to dream at the seaside :)..
Haha, yes all sorts of dreams comes to us as we sit by the sea @hairofmedusa
