A new sketch and painting of a Pug and Succulent

**Sketch for a new Pug Piece in my Animals and Plants series"

This little fellow seems to fit both in my series as well as the other sketches I've been making for an illustrated children's book that doesn't really exist. I just started with Clement Hare and now some of my sketches seem to fit in that 'world'.

What's up Succa?

This will most likely be the phrase or saying with this little fellow when I put him on things, lol. However, in his pen and watercolor state as you see him here, I do really think he fits in with Clement Hare and Aloysious Hedgehog in some way, don't you?

Characters coming together

I always love to take my pieces and give them various lives. I think of them as characters somewhat anyway, when creating them, so to have a sketch/watercolor version feel like book illustrations, then my more bright style for products, and also with some of these, I'm going to do them in oil as well.

I'm having fun with them, that is for certain.

I already started in oils (digitally) with the pug this morning and am rather enjoying it. I wonder, when I'm ready for a new dog, if a pug might not be one of the breeds I consider? We shall see.
