In Greek mythology, Hypnos is the god of sleep.
He is the son of the goddess Nix, the goddess of the night, and he is the twin brother of Tanatos, the god of peaceful death, the permanent sleep.

En la mitología griega, Hipnos es el dios del sueño.
Hijo de la diosa Nix, la diosa de la noche, y es el hermano gemelo de Tanatos, el dios de la muerte pacifica, el sueño permanente.

Hypnos lives in a dark underground palace where sunlight never enters, hallucinogenic plants grow at the entrance of his castle that make all who enter to lose consciousness.

Hypnos vive en un palacio subterráneo y oscuro donde nunca entra la luz del sol, en la entrada de su castillo crecen plantas alucinógenas que marean y hacen perder la conciencia a todos quienes entran.

His children were the ones who shaped the dreams of humans and sent them messages and premonitions when they slept.
His most important son: Morpheus, sent messages to kings, but he was punished for revealing secrets of the gods to mortals in his dreams.

Sus hijos eran quienes daban forma a los sueños de los humanos y les enviaban mensajes y premoniciones cuando dormían.
Su más importante hijo: Morfeo, enviaba mensajes a los reyes y personas, pero fue castigado por revelarle secretos de los dioses a los mortales en sus sueños.

There are ancient Greek temples where they did complex rituals with baths, incenses, hallucinogens and dances to enter a trance and be able to invoke the gods of sleep and discover their secrets.
